I’m 7.5 weeks with my first baby and I am in the trenches. I’m so nauseated. I am hungry and thirsty but everything besides slurpees make me feel worse. I’m usually a very busy and active person, but I just can’t. I know I am growing a human and my mom says this is just part of the process, but not being “productive” gives me so much anxiety. I also don’t have any real friends since moving to California so it’s just incredibly lonely to feel isolated and anxious and nauseated.
I am not sure if I am seeking advice or validation.

Mine continued until about 16 weeks then settled. Everyone will tell you that it’s a good sign… probably true!
In terms of advice, all I can suggest is crushed ice - keeps you hydrated too!
I feel you girl!!! My last pregnancy (8 months old now) I was sick the ENTIRE time. Vomiting every day. Couldn’t eat much at all. Couldn’t even stand water. So so nasty. Worst feeling. I hope it passes over for you 🤍 try some crackers/toast if you haven’t already. Lemonade (sugarfree) may also help. Ginger beer usually helps with nausea. Xx all the best
Had the worst nausea in my pregnancy, felt like nothing ever helped, no advice would ever really do a lot for me.
But a couple of things that maybe made it slightly less tolerable we’re:
- If you can (I know this might not work if the nausea is really severe) make sure you’re trying to stick to 3 meals a day. Sometimes when you’re trying to avoid eating it’ll make you feel worse. This only worked for me in the later stages of the first trimester though when the nausea was easing.
- Stay hydrated to the best of your ability, doesn’t necessarily have to be water but hydration does a lot especially if you won’t be eating too much.
- Try sucking on mints, those little round peppermint sweets helped me a lot.
- A lot of people recommend the nausea acupressure bands. Didn’t do anything for me but I’ve heard some people say they’re a saviour.
Whatever you choose to do or not do, you and baby are priority. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself and taking it easy. Look after yourself 🤍
Once you hit your second tri sign up for prenatal yoga!
I had hg with my first two pregnancies up until 12ish weeks (baby#3 slipped by almost unnoticed til about 11wks 🤣), but get yourself some ondansetron from the dr. It was the only thing that helped me survive the first 12wks
FTM- I was so nauseous & sick my whole first trimester & was in the ER 3 times. Peppermint gum, motion sickness bracelets & lemon/lime liquid IV got me through. When you feel any moment of “relief” (lol I know it not actual relief) eat what you know you can & that it’s hydrating like watermelon. Also, I switched to a kids toothpaste my first trimester & that helped as well.
