Transition from Moses basket to snuzpod

For the last 9 weeks we’ve been doing shifts overnight with our LO in her moses basket in the living room whilst one person gets sleep for at least 4/5 hour upstairs. She’s starting to outgrow the Moses basket, especially her arms hitting the sides so we’ve decided to take the plunge and transition to all sleeping in one room with LO in her snuzpod. Normally she’d go down for a 3/4 hour stint at 8/8.30 but we’ve had two wakes up already so far. Good vibes and advice of how to deal with the transition welcomed 😅😅

We did the same for the first 4 weeks as our LO hated the snuzpod at the beginning and I was convinced he hated the bedroom! We transitioned to the bedroom and just preserved with the snuzpod and thankfully it only took two nights for him to get used to it and now he loves it. Sending lots of positivity and hopefully it won’t be long before she gets used to it! Also, white noise has been a godsend x

@Ellie how did you cope with all being in the same room? We are still going to do the shifts for the night feeds but I am such a light sleeper I am worried I’m basically going to get no sleep at all because she still wakes up regularly for a bottle

My husband really struggled to start with as he is such a light sleeper but he has adjusted and now he sleeps through everything. It took me a couple of weeks to get used to the fact that we would both be asleep whilst he was asleep rather than one of us keeping an eye on him at all times but he’s 11 weeks now and my anxieties have calmed down a lot. It is hard though because some nights he’s asleep but he makes so many noises that I barely sleep! We tried alternating with the night shifts but I gave up and I was having to wake my husband up for each feed and then couldn’t get back to sleep. I just nap when he gets home from work if I need to. It’s tough though!!

We did shifts with our first baby which was absolutely brutal however she just wouldn’t lie down on her back. This time I cosleep (also wasn’t a fan of the snuzpod!) and we all get more sleep. That said he’s currently doing shorter sleep windows too which I’m not a fan of! (Feed to sleep, midnight, 3am, 6am 😭). I hope it’s another phase 🤞🏻

Have you tried to swaddle them up, as it helps make them feel tight and safe, also help keep their arms in. My son loves being wrapped up and stops him from touching the sides but also stops him from ripping his dummy out, which wakes himself up.
