Has anyone been diagnosed with preeclampsia without high blood pressure? I know it's uncommon but not impossible because my aunt had it, but I'm looking for more experiences. I have been feeling really off the last two days. I go to the OB today and they had trouble getting my blood pressure to read, had to try 4 times, which is honestly normal for me. It was normal when they finally got it to take. Then I took the urine test and talked to the doctor. I brought up concerns about feeling off and being concerned about preeclampsia because I've had headaches and swelling and just all around feeling off. Well, she said my glucose was high but my protein was fine. I get home and check MyChart, my protein was the result that was high, 100(2+). I called my OB and she's saying that you can't have preeclampsia without high blood pressure, even though I know my aunt had preeclampsia and didn't have the high blood pressure until after her son was born. Has anyone had this happen? What was your experience? I'm waiting for my aunt to get back to me about how it was for her and how she got answers, but I wanted to post on here as well.

Learn more about our guidelines.Following; I’ve been feeling off too, had protein in my urine but my blood pressure isn’t considered high enough. I’ve had blurred vision, dizziness; migraines. I was told to just drink more water…..
I had preeclampsia without high blood pressure! I had a high protein/creatine ratio and did a 24 hour urine collection and the protein in my urine was really high. I was diagnosed with silent preeclampsia and was induced at 37 weeks. I can answer any questions you have!
@Avery what kind of symptoms did you have? Did your OB do the 24 hour test or did you have to go to labor and delivery to get that done?
I had persistent headaches (headaches after taking Tylenol, drinking caffeine, taking a bath, and resting), starry vision, and overall feeling off. My OB gave me a jug to take home and you basically just pee in the jug over a 24 hour period and they test it. You can request to have the test done, I can’t believe your OB said you can’t have it without high BP. I know it’s rare but it happens!
Yes please have your doctor check you for everything! I had to have an emergency C section due to my platelets, liver enzyme, and gallbladder messing up due to HELP. My blood pressure was just like yours. I also had a lot of protein in my urine.
