I’m constantly waking up on my back, all the time. Do you think this is going to cause a problem?
Any suggestions on how to stop this as it seems to be almost every couple hours when I wake up to wee that I’m on my back again although I fall asleep on my back. I have a huge pregnancy pillow which I thought would help but it’s still happening.
Anyone in the same boat or any suggestion?

Learn more about our guidelines.Sleeping on your back has no effect on the baby or has been proven time and time again. It is only based on old research (that didn’t use pregnant women) that they thought it wasn’t ok, but all new research proved that it has no effect. If for some reason you have a big bump and you would start to cut off blood supply / oxygen supply to yours self you will instantly wake up and feel dizzy, and that’s how you would know if it’s ok for you or not. But in any way that won’t affect the baby. I’m 31 weeks and primarily sleep in my back
Don’t stress about it! If you wake up and notice just go back on your side 😇. It happens to us all. Ensure your pregnancy pillow is up to your back so when you turn on your back you’re more at an angle than flat😊.
I never sleep on my back but during pregnancy I would wake on my back, I had no issues 😊x
I’ve asked my doctor about this and she says it’s fine as long as you’re not getting dizzy and if you’re not fully straight back
I’m on the same boat. I have a pregnancy pillow and would do by best to sleep at my left side but later on, I’ll be back on my back or at the right side 😂
I have a small squishy rectangular pillow that I put behind my back to stop me from rolling backwards from my side and I use my long pregnancy pillow at the front/ between my legs to stop me rolling forwards.
