Hey so my little boy doesn’t have cmpa but we’re pretty sure he’s lactose intolerant and I was wondering if anyone knew of any butter alternatives that are suitable for baking TIA x

Stork for baking, flora buttery for toast, sandwiches etc
Flora block butter is my absolute fave, I do a lot of vegan baking and it works amazingly well, and there’s a salted and unsalted version!
If they're under 2 is very unusual for it to be lactose intolerance because human milk has lactose in it and formula has lactose in it unless its the super hypoallergenic one
But floras pretty good
Miyoko’s plant base milk butter
It depends on what you're making. For scones, Victoria sponge and empire biscuits ,for example, I'd recommend Vitalite spread. You can use vegetable/olive oil for carrot cake/butternut squash muffins 😋. Coconut oil can also be a good alternative.
Stork is great, mixes really well x
@Sarah this! It’s amazing stuff!
Stork is dairy free
Naturli plant block is the best for baking, spreads have too much liquid which can affect recipes plus it is the whitest available which makes it good for buttercream icing etc. Any block butter alternative is good for baking though.
@Helen yeah he’s definitely unique 😅 i was lactose intolerant as a baby as well so I’m guessing he’s got it off of me, he gets explosive poos and becomes really gassy but has no other signs of cmpa and is actually allergic to cmpa formulas so god knows what’s going on it’s just the only thing I can think of x
I haven't checked recently, but a few years ago the Stork in a plastic tub was dairy free but the block wrapped in paper wasn't, so just be careful with checking the ingredients of whatever you buy
I use the Tesco own butter (Stockwell) as it’s super cheap and is dairy free! X
We use pure life x
Stork is literally, made for baking, and is dairy free.
Thank you everyone i grew up using stork in my mums baking just had no idea it’s dairy free x
