I've just started pumping 8.5 months postpartum so I can start giving my milk to my baby in a bottle when I go back to work but I've tried pumping and when I do it, hardly any milk comes out and my nipples go purple, I know I have plenty of milk as I've fed my baby afterwards and she is gulping loads, this is after I've attempted pumping for 45 mins. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I had similar minus purple nipples, maybe I didn’t go so long as you. I found changing the settings to find the right one for me in this moment, and doing it little and often to get used to it, it eventually worked great.
Try doing it after baby breastfeeds, that’s best for timing and the let down will have happened already so you don’t have to stimulate first. Hope this helps!
This is normal! If you exclusively breastfeed it's totally normal to pump .5-2ml on each side!
But you can increase that, by using the pump more often you will tell you're boob's they need to make extra, so after a day or 3 they will start making that extra milk x
Baby (with a good latch) will always remove milk begger than the pump, although flange silver will definitely play into it also
Size
Sometimes it takes a little bit of time for your body to respond to a pump. It could be that the pump isn’t triggering a letdown like your baby does.
This is really useful, thank you everyone!
