Is anyone taking their newborn on holiday? We’re contemplating going abroad before our other little boy starts reception. Newborn would be just under 2 months, is it too soon?😭

Learn more about our guidelines. We’re thinking of going away just as he hits 8 weeks… he will be just under…
Only thing I think is he won’t have had any immunisations but I’m sure it’ll be fine xx
Thinking of going away when he is between 9 and 12 weeks if we can
I’d say this was perfect timing!
We went on holiday when my nephew was 2 months old. He pretty much slept the whole time! It was very easy
We’ve booked to go to Tenerife when baby girl will be 18 weeks!
Go for it! It's so much easier travelling when they are so young and mostly sleeping. We first went abroad with our eldest when she was 8 weeks old :) x
@Caroline this is what is throwing me off, are they okay to go abroad without having the first set of immunisations? We’d only be going to Spain or Portugal x
I’m taking my baby to portugal just after he turns 6wo, it isn’t early at all, I travelled since I was 2wo and here I am! Same with most of my nephews and nieces.. portugal is my home town so I’m trying to give him the immunisations when I get there but if not that will be completely fine as he can have them once we get back
I’m not sure that’s why I’m a bit like hmm is it okay, but I guess it should be? Xxx
I wouldn’t be going abroad until they had all of there jabs personally x
@Caroline I did ask the health visitor that assured me that wasn’t an issue! They usually have a list of countries that is mandatory to have the immunisations, they will let us know if we ask 😊
Not this time. But with my first son we flew to America for a wedding when our son was eight weeks old. It was actually great, he slept the whole flight and was really easy when we were there as he just slept most of the time! As they’re so little and you don’t get much late, we weren’t affected by jetlag at all! I’d say go for it!
We’re going Paris end of July, baby still hasn’t come yet, was hoping they’d be here by now cause we need to get passport sorted😂
We are going to the south of France in July. I rang up my GP and asked if we could give her vaccines early. She is now getting them all early at 6 and a half weeks. The only one she can’t have until 8 weeks is the vaccine for Meningitis (MenB). Xx
@Danielle this is good to know, I might give them a call and ask if we can do that too xx
