My sweet boy is 1.5mo and has been super fussy lately with a big increase in drooling. If he doesn’t want his bottle or pacifier when he’s crying, he’ll gladly take our finger and chews like crazy. I had him laying on his play mat and all of a sudden he started screaming and turned really red. I quickly searched for hair tourniquet but I didn’t find any. Even after I picked him up, he kept crying and had tears. I gave him his pacifier and he started chewing on it. I haven’t been able to look at his gums but my husband says they look irritated. Is this teething or is it another issue?

@Reba I was finally able to check and I see the white spots, but I don’t see any redness
@Jewel I gave my sweet boy a frozen paci… but it didn’t last very long it melted but he wouldn’t let me take it 😭
I’ve been curious about this as well as my 1.5 mo is doing the same. Maybe not as bad as your LO. But an increase in drool, putting his hands in his mouth chewing them and his pacifier. He’s not extremely fussy, but I’ve noticed an increase in that over the last few days. Probably need to check his gums.
Same mine is a month and a half and doing all the teething things so I’m gonna freeze a pacifier see how that goes
My first son teethed super early and teeth broke through! April baby already has white spots too
Yes that how my son is explains why he has been fussy lately
Mine is 2 months old and he’s been teething since 6 weeks I use the mommy bliss teething gel and it helps
So most babies don’t get their teeth this early. (Most of the time) It’s usually around 4+ months. Babies don’t teethe for months before their teeth come in. They dont get fussy until right before the tooth is going to actually come in. So most of the babies right now are NOT teething. Drool is normal to start at this age because this is when their salivary glands are developing. Also them chewing on their hand is also just another normal developmental thing they do. It’s how they start exploring. So all these things look like teething but aren’t. Also very normal for babies to be fussy because peak fussiness is around 6-8 weeks.
My girl has been drooling SO much lately and a little fussy. We have the app “Wonder Years” and it’s showing she’s about to have a developmental leap + cognitive and motor skill growth in the next few weeks so she’s entering her fussy phase. (Which chewing on the hand can be soothing)
She is SO loud when she sucks on a paci, she like smacks her lips
I have the wonder weeks app too and I think my LO is also entering a leap soon. He has been much more demanding the last couple of days. I’m excited for him to grow and learn but miss the consistent naps.
I thought I was crazy for thinking my 2 month old baby is teething 😭 I’m so glad I’m not alone
