My daughter won’t eat unless she likes the food. She refuses all fruit even bananas which was her FAV up until 2 days ago.
I’ll make her spaghetti which was her favorite and she’ll eat a bite or two or just simply cover her face talking about “all done”
If I make something for all of us to eat she’ll sit there crying and ask for milk. It’s to the point where I’ll put her highchair facing the tv so she’ll eat while distracted which worked for lunch but I’m scared to see how dinner will go. She only has 2 bottles a day so I’m worried she’s not getting enough calories.
Anyone else going through this ?? Tips?

Learn more about our guidelines.Just keep offering! They go through phases. For stuff like fruit, I’ll stop buying it for like a week and when it pops up again it’s like the lord himself just dropped it off to them.
I won’t say ALL kids are just fine eating less, or skipping a meal here and there. But, three kids in, sometimes they just enjoy, and thrive eating air.
so my toddler is the same, he only wants to eat sometimes strawberries, steak, and rice or pasta. So what I started doing with him slowly was seeing what kind of fruits and vegetables he’d like so I could start making him food. There are moments that children would like to eat one specific food, but don’t do it consistently then they’re gonna get bored of it
And there’s moments that he also wants to just drink milk, so what I usually do will give him a snack and then I’ll give him milk, but yeah, my toddler also likes to watch TV when he eats
Typically I try to put something I'm relatively sure he'll eat on the plate along with other foods. If I can get him to "buy in" and actually sit in his chair sometimes he'll eat the other foods as well. Of course then there are times I feed him something he demolished last time just for him not to touch it.
Girl, yes lol. My daughter will be 2 on the 19th and she has been going through this phase for a while now. We are somewhat coming out of it (a little bit) as of lately. But yeah there was a good chunk of time she barely ate anything. Some days she would thrive off of 2 blueberries and a single goldfish cracker 😩 lately shes been eating more but yes, all about the distractions lol. She also eats while watching TV. She still fluctuates a lot though. Some days she will eat a ton others barely anything. Its our job to keep offering the food, but we can't make them eat! Hang in there mama. I swear, feeding a toddler should be an Olympic sport!
It’s a phase my daughter just went through it she’s also 2 in July! She is now back to eating normal and not crying over the food lol! I just did more snacks during that time and gave her two options to choose from
My daughter is going through that too. I can rarely get her to eat at the table anymore. She’d rather walk around the house with a snack in her hand or bowl of pasta that takes her 20 min to eat and feeds half to the dog. As long as she’s eating I don’t care where she eats right now. Some days she’ll eat a ton and others it’s mostly snacks. It’s the most frustrating part of my day trying to feed her but I’m hoping it’s a phase that’ll pass soon.
My daughter will be 2 soon and she also won’t eat any regular food lol try to get “healthier” snacks if you can maybe? Mine will eat granola, granola bars, protein cereal, and yogurt. I call them all “cookies” and the yogurt “ice cream” and that’s been working for now haha
