I haven’t come across many posts about this, but I’m wondering if anyone else’s baby cries when visiting someone else’s home. I’m usually at home with my baby, and my husband is mostly out for work, so it’s generally just the two of us at home.
It seems like our baby is happiest when it’s just the two of us around. Yesterday, we visited my sister-in-law and there were a few other people there. My baby became quite upset and wouldn’t settle until we got back in the car to leave. This has happened on other occasions too. Our baby seems content only at home, in the park, or while we’re out grocery shopping.
I’m exclusively breastfeeding and just wondering am I doing something wrong? Is this normal? And what can I do to help my baby feel more comfortable in new environments?

Learn more about our guidelines.I haven’t really encountered this although my first thought is whether it’s the environment your baby doesn’t like or potentially not being with you. You haven’t said whether when with your sister in law and the other scenario whether baby was being passed between other people and if that’s the case then there’s probably a bit of separation anxiety which if that is the case then it’s totally normal. Even if I’ve got that wrong, as long as your babies fed, clothed and loved - you are absolutely not doing anything wrong and questioning it just shows how much your care about doing it ‘right’ if there is such a thing. You’re doing amazing!
Have you tried baby groups? For the baby get used to be along other people and babies x
