Hi ladies ! Tomorrow I will be 29 weeks with my third and we are doing a home/water birth for the very first time , my first two were delivered in the hospital, both were medicated labor and births. This time I will be doing all natural, I’m reaching out to see if anyone’s done a natural home/water birth, maybe you can share advice or suggestions ❤️

Learn more about our guidelines.I loved my unmedicated water birth! The warm water was an incredible pain reliever! I birthed at a birth center with my midwife, but did most of my labor at home. I waited so long before driving to the birth center I almost had the baby at home/in the car.
My best advice is to stay positive and watch a bunch of real birth videos of unmedicated water births so you have real expectations of what it will be like and what it will look like and then visualize how you’d like to make it your own and empower yourself to have the birth you want!
Thank you so much!! Ive gotten a little anxious/nervous about it, this makes me feel a whole lot better , I will definitely be watching them tonight and figuring out what will be idea for me !
You’ve got this mama ❤️
I plan to do a water birth too with my 3rd kid! I'm currently 28 weeks and 6 days. I'm quite excited but super anxious. Sadly won't being having home birth I would of probably loved it but I have to do a water birth at the hospital just in case something happens.
I haven’t but in the hospital I went 25 hours without a epidural with my son and all I can say is move, warm baths/showers, and try to sleep if you can. That’s what helped me get through it. ( I only got the epidural to see if it would help me go from 8cm because I stopped at 8cm at 23 hours in labor and then had a c-section at 29 hours because I couldn’t get past 8cm )
This will be my 3rd birth and I am also doing home un medicated water birth for the first time.
Like Kyra mentioned I was told to watch videos, do research and write down your birth plan.
I also have been doing a lot of hip opener exercises and squats to prepare my body for labor.
Another thing is to make sure you have great support. I’ve been having my husband watch videos as well and practice hip squeezes, sacral pressure and etc.
I labored at home with my 1st kid and warm baths, the shower, sleeping between contractions, drinking water, getting electrolytes and eating nuts really helped me through.
You got this mama, go into it with a mindset of strength and endurance and you will do just fine. God designed our bodies for this 🙌🏾🙌🏾
I had an unnasisted home water birth. Just husband and I. I had him make me a laboraid (coconut water, shake of salt, lime juice) I had little fairy lights around my birthing pool and positive affirmations written on index cards on the wall. Played some meditation music (which i didnt even hear tbh) and everything went well. I would say having had a dinner ready to go in the fridge or freezer or something would have been optimal, nothing was open after midnight and most births are at night. Id say go with the flow of your body, dont have any expectations, and be present in the moment!
