This may sound like a stupid post but got to ask haha,
So when making a 5oz bottle with the correct water and powder the liquid sits way up near 7oz once completed … so when measuring how much my baby drinks does that technically mean if he finishes a bottle he’s done 7oz even tho I made for 5? Or 210ml instead of 180? Makes 0 sense to me👎🏽

Learn more about our guidelines.5 scoops with the 5 measured water still equals a 5 oz bottle even though it comes higher in the bottle. It’s the amount of formula that counts x
@Carla it’s so difficult as I track his feeds so I’m confused on how I track what he’s had to drink, like now he’s had some of his bottle I’ve gone to burp him and it’s only just at 5.5oz even tho it was only a 5oz bottle😭🤣 so I’m confused on how I’m supposed to track that as he’s technically drank what the bottle measures as 2oz or 60ml👎🏽🥲
From HV, GP and pediatrician, it's the total. Since there is no way for you to take the formula powder back out after making the bottle, you count it as a whole. The example I was given was making a cake. You add 500gr of flour and 500gr of water. The cake is 1000gr. Since the ingredients cannot be separated out, you count the whole thing.
The amount of scoops equals the amount of oz.
