Hey I’m looking for some recommendations for a high chair. I’m currently torn between the good old Ikea one & the silver cross one. However, I’m very indecisive when buying things 😆.
Also when did you start putting your babies in them, did you put them in to get them use to stability or only when they started weaning. She’s sat in the Ikea one (I’ll add pic) and she leans to the side I don’t know if this is still not stable enough to what they recommend. Any advice thanks xx

Learn more about our guidelines. We bought a fancy one when my son was born then as soon as we were weaning very quickly realised the ikea one was better 😂 super cheap/ easy to clean/ transport and majority of cafes/restaurants use this one anyways so means they’re used to it no matter where you go. He’s 3 now and we still use it! We will be buying the same again for my 4 month old when she’s ready to wean.
If support is a concern, you can buy the inflatable little insert with it that comes with washable cover 👍 (tip: keep the inflatable seat in your baby bag as it’s great to pop in a baby swing too for when they first start going to the park 🥰) xx
@Lizzie such a great idea about the swing! I did see the inflatables when I went in the other day. I am swayed to the ikea one I was worried it wouldn’t last as she got older xx
I've got an amazing one which can turn into a play table https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/baby/highchairs-and-booster-seats/highchairs/tutti-bambini-nova-lite-high-chair-and-rocker-grey/p/213140
The ikea one with the cushion has been great for us, my baby is just under 6 months and hes just now started to sit up properly in it. I’ve been putting him in it for a while now and i think thats helped a lot x
@Steph oh yeah that looks really secure! I think I’m swayed now 🙈 thanks x
We got this one

I've got a Joei 6 in 1 and it's godsend.
I wanted one I could fold and put away the tray comes off for cleaning and the tray on the tray comes off and can go in the sink or dishwasher.
The seat detaches to become a booster on a normal chair and the tray still attaches to that so I can take it back and forth my mum's. We didn't get it until she was 6 months but this one you can use from younger as the seat reclines and is fully adjustable. That way they can still join you in the kitchen or at the table etc even before they're eating :)
It also has a liner that goes in the washing machine and the seat underneath is really easy to clean!
When she's older it'll turn into a little chair and table for her too.
We have a joie mimzy snacker and a graco snackease (basically the same chair) we’ve tried the ike one when out and about and with my eldest we couldn’t get her in it after about 11 months because of her being higher centiles. One of my twins we would have the same problem. We’ve bought the ikea highchair inserts and are using them in the high chairs we have as the boys are still a bit small for them and they are working a dream
IKEA one!!! So much better for mess! Started putting my boy in the high at 4.5 months old x
