Just got discharged from the hospital after going in for decreased fetal movement. Everything is okay, thank God š©µI have a anterior placenta, which makes it harder to feel kicks, something Iāve been trying not to stress about, but it still worried me enough to get checked. If youāre feeling unsure, go in. Youāre never overreacting when it comes to your baby.š¤ Any other mamas with anterior placenta? When did movement feel more consistent for you?

I did go in a few times for decreased movement but he was always moving by the time they checked me lol. After 28 or 30 weeks or something like that was when the doctorās office told me to do kick counts everyday. I would lie on my side at a time he was usually moving and if I didnāt get the count I would wait try again and after a few tries I did have to go in one time but he was fine
@Ryann girl yess, Iām 28 weeks now and this was actually my 2nd time going in for decreased movementsš Both times they said everything looked good and reminded me itās probably just my anterior placenta making it harder to feel him. They told me the same thing too, drink something cold, lay on my side, and count kicks. Iāve just started doing kick counts now that Iām 28 weeks, but it still makes me so anxious sometimes. Glad to know Iām not alone, itās reassuring to hear your baby was always fine tooš©µ
My placenta was anterior when I carried my little one, I didnāt properly feel him moving until around 30 weeks + when he got bigger, donāt worry youāll feel everything soon š Take care x
@TASHA omg thatās so reassuring, thank you!! š„¹ Iām 28 weeks so hoping the big kicks start soon lol
do you know how heās positioned? If heās head down try pushing hard above your belly button after drinking something cold and sugary and he should move!
Anterior placenta with my LO, I didnāt feel any huge kicks until around the 30/32 week mark!
Iām not sure if itās because I was distracted with working or what, but I rarely felt her during the day when I was active. It was almost always at night!
Iām 31 weeks and finally starting to feel bigger movements in the last 2 weeks. Feels very different to my first baby though because of the anterior placenta, more mild kicks. The baby did move into a breech position last week though, not sure if thatās why I can suddenly feel more
Yes, I have an interior placenta as well. I found out at 31 weeks when I was admitted into LND for my blood pressure gets high when Iām in the doctor because Iām so nervous and afraid but then I feel like wow that makes a lot of sense. I wish the doctors wouldāve told me earlier
Yes, youāll definitely feel them more on the side and from now I am on 35+2 days and do I get a feeling of the baby makes me so emotional. It doesnāt have much time left joy joy, joy.
My movements were strong at church. And when i went in for decreased fetal movement. And even then I didnāt feel him move but the monitor made sounds I laughed but was frustrated
Frustrated because I felt dumb
@Lydia Iām not exactly sure how heās positioned right now, but Iām definitely gonna try that trick next time! Cold + sugar + a little poke , got it š thank you š
@Lexie Omg that makes me feel so much better!! Iām 28 weeks and was starting to overthink š© Iāve noticed he moves way more at night too, maybe these babies just love the nighttime lolš
@Summer Ahh okay that gives me hope! Iām still waiting on those bigger kicks š itās wild how different it can feel with an anterior placenta. I wonder if position really does make a big difference, breech mightāve moved baby to where you can feel more for sure!
@Johanny Aww i totally get that, im the same way at appointments, my nerves go way up š And yess!! Finding out about the anterior placenta res helped things click for me too. Iām already getting emotional thinking about how close itās all gettingš„¹ so happy for you mama! Almost thereš
@Chantal Omg yes, thatās happened to me too! I went in and he started showing out on the monitor but I couldnāt feel anything š© I felt so silly but also likeā¦better safe than sorry! Youāre definitely not alone š
@Jalen during labor he was so active too and I couldnāt help but laugh because I still didnāt feel him. Good luck
I had one, lying on my side really helped as I could feel her on the sides where there's no placenta if that makes sense!
I can't remember how many weeks I was but trust me when she got bigger, by god did I still feel her!
My sonographer was like "she's so active I think this placenta is doing you a favour".
It also really helped to take 15 minutes and go lie down and concentrate because when you're busy and moving about when they're so small, you're less likely to notice movements šš»
Although their position makes a difference too. I remember going in at about 34 weeks. She was head down and starting to engage so it made it trickier to feel her as she was then completely behind it!
Yes definitely experienced this with my first and second time around aswell that damn anterior placenta got me stressing lol im 24 weeks and literally get worried everyday especially because i have a toddler im always running behind and dont notice it but i can feel baby moving around and and definitely stretching
