My 2.5 year old son has been having really bad seizures 6/7 where he has been hospitalised to. The last one being over the bank holiday weekend where he had 3 in 24 hours they did a MRI scan on the 13th May and on Monday I got a call to say they had found something on his brain called white matter decrease they feel this is a form of Epilepsy so he’s now going to be going for an EEG and start him on seizure medication he’s going to be under nurology and genetics me as a mum I am so worried and feel so let down because I kept telling the hospital their was something wrong and it was not just frebrile seizures. I am suffering from Mental Health to due to this.

@Charleigh I’m sorry you were having seizures to it’s so scary they have said they want to trial it. It’s just worrying about his brain as a mum it’s hard not to worry
Hiya - our second born (6 months) has been diagnosed with a rare brain disorder (also via an MRI). Part of that disorder is epilepsy. She’s on anti seizure meds 2 x per day to prevent seizures and low dose daily aspirin to prevent stroke like events. We also have rescue meds at home and the hospital give great training on it all. Because we found out so young (she was diagnosed on birth) we started the meds before she had any seizures so have been very lucky as she hasn’t had any yet on the meds. Yh trial is best but it does take a while 2 kick in so try not get 2 scared if bubba gets headache/seizures when 1st on it.. ik its hard not 2 worry but it will soon be sorted

@Charleigh Thankyou we are awaiting an appointment for an EEG we are really hoping it won’t be to long before we hear also he’s being refered to genetics to.
