Hi mommas! I could be totally overthinking this but not too sure! I’m a FTM and 21w4d and I’ve been feeling babygirl very regularly, not very strong but definitely been feeling her little kicks! However I’ve noticed today I haven’t felt her kick at all. I’m not sure if it’s that I just haven’t noticed it or that she’s just not moving… advice please!!

Learn more about our guidelines.Fewer fetal movement as you get closer to giving birth is normal. It’s because the baby is getting larger, and also sleeping more and there isn’t a lot of space in the womb! This happened to me while I was pregnant with my daughter. But if you’re concerned you can check the heart beat at your next appointment or go to labor and delivery so they can check on the spot.
Go to L&D right now! Better safe than sorry. Dont listen to the advice of “drink something sugary” or “drink ice water” to induce movements. If movements are normal with no intervention, it’s time to get checked out. They don’t mind at all and genuinely want to make sure everything is okay. Always better to be safe than sorry
^edit: If movements ARENT normal with no intervention
I would say call a 24 hour nurse line through your hospital right away. It can be her relaxing but everyone is different and it is a sign of something serious sometimes. Definitely wouldn’t ignore it, and they know what to ask to deem whether u need to come into the hospital or wait to schedule an appointment with ur ob
I would definitely go get her checked out to be safe. However,When i was pregnant with my little girl she would have a really active day and then scare the everliving F out of me for the following day or two where I didn't hardly feel any movement. Just enough to be like oh ok, you're still there lol but I also had anterior placenta so she had more of a cushion on my front and I couldn't feel her super strong to begin witb
@Victoria same for me. My placenta was her pillow. So I couldn’t feel much unless she was KICKING the living daylights out of me on my sides. 😭 There would be some days where I wouldn’t feel movement for a couple days and then she’d find that position and kick me out of my sleep. Just disrespectful this baby, now she kicking me daily since she’s not trapped in there anymore.
@Lexi Yes! Lol I called the placenta her pillow too. She also had the most keen sense for when I was trying to record because she could have been kicking the I open my camera and she stopped. Wouldn't budge. Giving me no proof for later Lol. Now she just wails her arms at me in her sleep for no reason 😂
Definitely call to check but don’t worry too much. The same happened to me like one day he just hadn’t kicked for a whole night and I didn’t feel him until I ate lunch. I had a Dr. pepper and some protein. The nurse recommended that and I also have an anterior uterus so I didn’t feel his kicks as much for awhile sometimes. It’s all about the way position themselves. Hope everything is okay honey💗
