I currently breast feed and pump to feed with a bottle but I'm thinking about introducing formula so when she starts sleeping over at my parents I don't need to worry if I'm giving them enough milk to last or the timings of it going off.
She will still be predominantly breastfed and only have formula in times like this.
How is best to start introducing it? Do I mix some in with breast milk and then slowly start increasing the dose or will I do one full bottle of formula with no breastmilk?

Learn more about our guidelines.I’m interested to know thoughts on this too as we have to leave little one with my sister next month and I am pumping but thinking to give formula as well but didn’t know about mixing or just giving one bottle… sorry no help but wanted to know peoples responses too x
I’d probably do part and part if it were me. Otherwise it might constipate her x
I don’t mean always btw! Just introduce x
I did it by just giving it as a bottle and it was fine but some people do half formula, half breastmilk to start.
I did find though the ready made formulas caused a lot of tummy upset but using the powder one was fine
@Caitlan thank you, I'll get a powder 🙂
