Any advice on how to relax when when babies asleep, nighttime I’m constantly checking her, she’ll be happily fast asleep and I’m up staring at her checking her breathing when I should be sleeping, she’s an absolute dream and wakes to feed anywhere from 1-4 hours (bf) but I’m just riddled with anxiety and checking when I should be sleeping, I wake up to every noise she makes. I’m probably averaging 3 hours a night, we do have an owlet which I find reassuring but not enough so 😅
Any tips please on when does it get better 🥹

Learn more about our guidelines. For about 1 month, I cried myself to sleep every night with anxiety, then little by little it faded. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still anxious, but I think that’s just a mum thing now
Aw thank you, it’s weirdly comforting to know I’m not alone. I had a really traumatic birth and find myself just staring at her crying for hours but it’s not helping my recovery 🥹🥲😅 xxx
Obviously completely understand if this isnt feasible, but do you have anyone who could watch her for an hour or two during the day maybe so you could rest, even in the same room just in case you struggle leaving her? Or also try sleeping the same as you would at night during the day whether its in bed or the sofa (the change of space might actually help a bit, who knows) Goodness knows you're absolutely exhausted by this point so getting the sleep is necessary. And at 1wk old, she'll be sleeping 90% of the time so you should have lots of spaces where you could try?
Obviously tell me to sod off if none of that is useful. :)
The ppa is, in my opinion, just a part of us as mums. Some people have it worse than others though of course. Its hard but it will get easier once she grows and you get used to her movements and her own little quirks. ❤️
