Looking for breastfeeding/pumping encouragement and support. Up until a week ago, I was exclusively breast feeding our little one. Recently we decided to add in bottles and move towards exclusively pumping as doing both seemed too exhausting for me to keep track of and inform my partner on. However, since making the switch I feel like my supply has tanked since trying to move to bottles of breast milk. I hardly ever feel “full” and rarely leak regardless of the amount of time that has passed. I’m overwhelmed and feel like life revolves around pumping and washing parts/bottles just for it to be time to pump again rather than being able to spend time and bond with my baby. There’s not possibly enough hours in the day to pump so frequently for so long and still feel like a normal human and now a cow. With a major factor of adding bottles being so my partner could help more, I’m feeling super disappointed and resentful towards him right now as the follow through has not been there on his end -it doesn’t help that he also poured out my only “extra” freshly pumped milk of the day just a few hours ago. So anyway, Im debating on trying to go back to exclusively BF my baby and hopefully get my supply up or if I hold onto this bottle feeding idea for a better outcome in the long run.

Learn more about our guidelines.Slightly different, but I was struggling with latch, so switched to pumping for a few weeks and I completely feel you on feeling like a cow and also hating washing all the parts!
I eventually decided to either make breastfeeding work, or switch to formula. Long story short went back to breastfeeding, but he had one bottle of formula at bedtime so I could skip one of the feeds and take a break.
Engorgement did start to level off for me after it was initially so bad! I then very rarely felt full like in the earlier days, but my supply was still really good. Hopefully it’s a case of that for you too!
We also used huckleberry app to track feeds so I didn’t have to remember what I’d done or tell my partner as we could both see on the app
