Keeping baby cool

This might sound strange but I was wondering if I bought a cooling pad if it would be safe to have it under the mattress cover in baby’s next to me crib, I’m so anxious about putting her to bed in this heat and was wondering if I could use that to help keep her cool. We live in an upstairs flat so all the heat from downstairs rises up and it ends up around 28-32 degrees up here! Currently have her in a nappy and vest, window is open and we have a cooling unit which is switched on currently, just trying to think outside the box whilst still following safe sleep

I wouldn’t use that for sleep , during the day one that’s designed for babies would be good idea but I wouldn’t say during sleep xx

I don’t see an issue if it still keeps her flat !

Not recommended, babies can’t regulate their temperature like the adults and a cooling pad may actually cool them down too much or even cause hypothermia. You can have her in just the nappy if she seems sweaty. Opening windows in opposing rooms and keeping internal doors open helps with the airflow if the home layout allows

I’ve seen the ones that are used in prams and bassinets would they not be safe?

I would think it’s fine due to having the layer in between, but if you’re worried…. You can always get a silk sheet to help keep baby cool + keep her in only the diaper.

I can’t say for sure, I just know that they’re not recommended for sleep. And I know there are a lot of things being sold specifically for babies that go directly against many safety regulations. New parents are easy targets I guess, with the lack of sleep and endless worries. I don’t think you need a cooling pad, babies sleep fine in hotter climates

I wouldn't risk it, all you can really do is keep her in a nappy and check her temp every time she wakes up (just put the back of your hand on her tummy and then her back to make sure she isn't too hot) the cooling mat may stop her being flat, as it's not firm it may also move when she does and get out of place and potentially suffocate her (not trying to scare you)

It’s sooo hot upstairs in my house too and the only thing I’ve managed to think of is putting him pram fan onto his next to me on a low setting pointing into the corner so it can circulate round him x

O found a resolve that worked for us, we had the window open all night and I remembered we had an air cooling unit in storage, had the window open and the cooler on as high as possible, made the room around 18 degrees which meant I could put her in her love to dream swaddle over her nappy, as she doesn’t sleep without it on, she’s a very happy girl this morning as she slept like a dream!x

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
