Im traveling with my 1 year old soon and i am also nervous. I would purchase extra leg room. I know it can be pricey but you will be more comfortable and the baby will have more room to move around. Also, i believe airlines let you take a car seat.

I just traveled to Scotland with my 6 month old. We checked the carseat and she sat on our lap. I nursed her on take off and landing, this helps with the pressure in their ears. She slept most of the flights on the way there. I changed her into her pajamas for our second flight so that it might help her sleep. Otherwise I just played with her. I didn't try to stick to a schedule I let her sleep when she wanted and let her play a lot. We walked a lot in the airport. On the way home, I walked the aisle with her and just made sure I had food and toys. Good luck and just try to relax, your baby can feel your energy. Try to have fun!
I’m travelling with my 11 month old in a few weeks and I’m so nervous, we travelled with her when she was 2 months and it was a breeze cause she just slept the entire time and I was nursing her . Don’t really know what to expect this time 🤨😫
Didn’t have to travel for that long but we used to live in Hawaii and moved to the east coast. Roughly 12 hours. We got my daughter a seat so she slept in her car seat. However I do know that a lot of airlines offer bassinets for the babies to sleep in. Definitely call ahead and ask if it’s available for your flights. Definitely babywear while you’re in the airport! It’ll make it so much easier.
I have a stroller and car seat combo.. how do I check the stroller so it can go with me so I dont have to carry her car seat? And can i take a can of formula with me? Shes way to messy for her baby food on a plane
Thank you mommas for all the advice! I really do appreciate it 💞

Oh awesomeness
Flying with babies isn’t too bad! I just did it twice within the past two weeks. I sat in the back of the plane and I tried to sit in the aisle seat. The flight attendants sometimes change the seats to get you in a row by yourself or with fewer neighbors. Breastfeed ascending and/or descending to keep the baby from crying from their ears popping! ❤️
What about tylenol, diaper rash cream, orajel? Since she is teething..
Does anyone know the size / weight limit on the strollers? I'm flying with my 11 month old in a few weeks and I've never flown before so I'm super nervous.
I haven’t had to travel that long with my little one but we did our first trip when she was 3 months on the plane and she was a rockstar and slept the whole time. And the second time when she was 6 months. They weren’t more then 5 hours total though. But make sure you are packed well. Lots of milk, snacks or pacifier because their ears will hurt if they aren’t sucking or eating something during take off and landing. Make sure it’s very easy to get it. Sit on the aisle so if you need to change diapers you don’t have to constantly bug the people next to you to move. We checked the stroller at the gate. The first time we didn’t take the car seat on. Every trip after that until she was 1 I always took the car seat on the plane (never had to pay for the extra seat. Flew southwest and United and flights weren’t full so there were extra seats available) I also recommend making sure if you have a carrier wear that so if she wants to snuggle it’s to snap her on and you can still sleep too!
