I was in the same spot so I went to my cousin who has three kids of her own I had on my registry a Pack n Play I decided not on a crib a stroller / car seat but my favorite thing of all was the bouncer it saved my life plenty of times and for when they get older a highchair which I did not even think of it first that was my cousin's idea
I absolutely love the backpack style diaperbags!! They’re supper easy to carry and don’t throw you off balance. PLUS if you’re like me then after about a week of wearing it a lot (we’re always on the go) you’ll get use to it and forget it’s there
Diaper bag- I have anchored east backpack style - from amazon. Love it.
Must haves- a good baby carrier. A wrap style to start (I have a cuddly wrap but there are lots of other good brands) with but eventually you’ll want a few styles like a structured one. I also loved having baby toys- like a lot of them. Mostly bought second hand.
Wubba nub pacifier, boppy pillow, and a weighted sleep sack is what i’ve lived by for my little one so far!!!! Those are the essentials that she LOVES . My girl (2 months old) sleeps through the night, 12 hours because of the weighted sleep sack! Highly recommend
This is a list of every day items we used/still use. Mine is 5months on tuesday.
She sleeps in her pack n play.
She loves her rocker chair.
Maybe hold off on a bath. We had two and ended up showering with her and we dont use them.
Shop for the stroller that fits your lifestyle. Depending on what you'll use it for and how often.
She plays on her piano mat every single morning since a couple weeks old.
My SO hates button up jammies, so we have a collection of zipper ones.
Some sort of sleep suit/swaddle. My babe started sleeping through the night before she was ready to go that long without eating because of them. (Nights she didnt have it on, she woke up multiple times)
Also bottles......see which ones will work best before you buy whole sets. I'd reccomend any type with air vents (they truly do help with colic) also wide necks are easier to put formula into and depending if you pump some are compatible with your flanges.😊
Oh and not a must have for everyone, but it was on mine. An owlet.
A diaper changing table and diaper genie. 😁
Target sells an Eddie Bauer brand diaper backpack with amenities: (great for traveling) changing pad, container for wipes, insulated side pocket for baby food pouches, removable inside plastic zip pouch, etc.
Little Unicorn brand has the FRICKEN CUTEST diaper bags. Personally I like the messenger style ones the best. They also have very cute bandana bibs. Much cuter, better material than regular bibs & quite stylish! Something I don’t mind leaving my little one in throughout the day! You’ll also DEFINITELY want Muslin wraps - they work best when swaddling :-) good luck, mama!!! ❤️
For a new born I think sleeping pods are a must!!! They are zip up so very easy to use. They were a life saver.
Didn’t need much for my son but I really love the baby Einstein products found in target.
I have a cute indoor swing and a walker from that company.
A carrier is helpful sometimes
Target has nice strollers for reasonable price
And that’s pretty much my son has, I’m not overwhelmed with a lot of baby products but those are my go tos ^^
You’ll know when you meet your baby what is helpful and what isn’t
-Backpack diaper bag-Dad Gear brand is great
-Skip the dot a tot we went donut pillow. Only place our girl sleeps alone-newborn size is a must as her chin is off her chest. Boppy Newborn Baby Lounger
-Arms reach Co-sleeper:it connects to the bed & has a high weight limit
-Any play mat great place for photos, tummy time, & add toys that jingle she’ll learn to “play” by herself
-Wrap/carrier - summer version. It is easier to add a coat/cloths than overheat. The ergo is great but know it gets hot. I LOVE my wrap beachfrontbabywraps.com
-Plenty of breastfeeding shirts-skip maternity only. If you can’t pop a boob don’t waste you money. momzelle.com - very affordable
-Zip swaddle- Velcro/snaps are so much harder
-They grow so fast don’t buy baby cloth unless you love - again zippers only
-Breast feeding bras-at least 3
-Caddy for breast feeding station
-Sleep belt: perfect for skin to skin
-Battery Tea Light Candles: for during labor and great portable night light
I feel like the only mom ever who didn’t find the Boppy useful! It didn’t help me breastfeed.
I liked the My Brest Friend pillow (stupid name!) because it can strap around your body, you can walk around with it and it helps your tired arm hold your baby while you’re standing up!
I didn’t think I would use swaddle wraps but needed them when he went to daycare because they don’t allow swaddle blankets because of state rules
So late to comment but I just had a baby in November & these are the things I can't live without...
-baby Aquaphor (save $ & buy Vaseline)
-Pack n Play (we never used a crib)
-diaper pail (for one sleepy mama)
-4moms bath tub
Useless things we got
-changing station cushion(we change her on an surface)
-baby swing (she was too impatient for it)
-night time baby wash (does the same as normal baby wash)
-Velcro swaddle wraps (too loose)
-a bagillion sock ( we only used the same 12 pairs)
Things I wish I got
-co sleeping bassinet (she slept with me most the time)
-preggy pillow (I had a c section, so super sore)
-bottle drying grass ( I have now & looovveee)
-baby breeza (still dont have but I use one & it would have been so useful for 2 &4 am feedings )
Hope this was helpful & Congrats
Ah yes!!! Thankyou! This was SO helpful!!! ♥️
Yess! Thankyou SO much everyone!
Rock n’ play is a life saver, my daughter sleeps like a champ in hers. Boppy pillow and baby swing are also super helpful. The baby swing I have is from Ingenuity. You can strap baby in plus it vibrates, swings on it’s own, has a timer and a sound option. My girl is almost two months and is starting to show interest in the little toy that hangs overhead. Definitely great for a nap or just hanging out.
Trusted by 3M+ women
Boppy definitely! Dockatot is also awesome and they will grow into it when the baby starts rolling over. Binkies are great-mine LOVES the wubbanubs. We have the Snoo which is pretty expensive bassinet but it’s worth EVERY penny!
I'd say register fur some toys... muy baby is 3 months and just starting to show interest but I didn't think to register for things that weren't for newborns (first baby so I needed everything)
Mine loves her activity gym now, that's my current must have!
It's so hard because babies are so different... Mine can'tuse a pacifier but obviously other babies LOVE them!
I'd say DON'T put blankets on your registry...i didn't but I got like 8 lol
Omg I wasn’t the only one the 😂
Same with the blankets. They are nice but that was every other gift. 🤷🏻♀️
Video monitor! Super helpful for peace of mind in the earliest days when you’re paranoid and sleep-deprived, and hilariously entertaining later on 😆 We watched my son (now 3) fall asleep with his butt still on his training potty. Worth it.
Omg how cute haha. Do you think those owlet foot monitors are worth it too?!
A bouncy seat or swing, swaddle wrap or wearable blanket/sleep sack, lots more diapers and wipes than you think you could ever use, hand sanitizer, extra baby sheets and changing pad covers, piddle pad for the car seat, tissues (for you on those hormonal emotional days), white noise machine or app, baby carrier/sling (and YouTube how to use it), lots of healthy stuff (and some treats) you can eat and drink with 1 hand, something to read when you are nap trapped, nursing pillow, lots of burp cloths, baby wash, rocking chair or yoga ball, rash cream (I like boudreaux's), comfy clothes for you...oh and stain remover!
Boudreaux’s butt paste is the best! Much faster and more effective than desitin, which you will probably get a ton of even if you don’t ask for it lol.
Ergobaby carrier and a nose frida
Nose frida for sure! Works so much better than a bulb syringe. Baby aquaphor is the best diaper cream imo....nursing bras & lots of big comfy v-necks lol
Must have diaper backpack!!!! Target has the cutest ones than anyone else out there!!
Also, a dock a tot was my MUST have for the first 6-7 months. I barely used anything else...
Holy heavens! Why is the Dock-a-tot so pricey? 😮😮😮😮
I had no idea.
