@Yvette some here! Also cut out alcohol, smoked weed for the first time in my life (stopped when I found out at 8 weeks) ate Indian food ( my nanny fam was Indian) took baths, slept a lot and saw a psychic for the first time and had my shakra cleared… a lot of firsts but can’t be a coincidence after trying for so long.
Ps I’m also a first time mom doing this solo ❤️
@Stephanie just looked at your pic. I find it hard to believe you need to loose 5 stone! Let's instead say you'd like to be as healthy as you can, balance blood sugar. If so, some tips. I lost weight accidentally by following the things my pcos lets me eat (I have many intolerances).
1. Increase veg and reduce carbs. So on each plate include more and more variety of veg. Try looking at a list of all the veg available as we often forget.
2. Reduce process food snacks to special occasions only. Replace with things like fruit, nuts, dark chocolate.
3. Opt for low sugar, reduce sugar, honey etc as much as you can. You can do this by initially allowing yourself alot of fruit.
4. Try a lean protein powder with dairy free milk as a snack.
5. Don't be afraid of healthy fats like nuts, avacado, dark chocolate. We've been sold a myth that low fat helps. It doesn't.
There are many pcos books out there that echo this. Though I find some too strict. So my advice above is more straightforward and liveable.
I have pcos and I conceived without treatment and went full term which is a blessing. What I did was eat healthy, reduce stress and exercise that is when my periods for the first time started to regulate I also wasn't trying to conceive.
I was diagnosed at 16 and was put on the pill .
Went on a gluten and dairy free diet last year ( was already gluten free as have an allergy to it ) found some tablets called Ova which help with insulin , came off the pill and now I’m pregnant and due any day 😊
What tablets were these?🥺
Looks like they may have changed the packaging on other websites 😊
I also followed pcos.weightloss on Instagram and she’s great ! ( not all about weightless ) but helping with your body x
NAC https://www.verywellhealth.com/benefits-of-nac-for-pcos-4105735 and paleo are what I believe what got me pregnant with my current pregnancy. wishing you the best of luck
Hi gals! I’ve had pcos since I was 15 and I’m 26 on 14-01. Been married nearly 3 years and ttc since October. Been off the pill since March and haven’t had a natural period since I was 15. Been on the pill from then until I brought myself off it in March, metformin isn’t working and have to lose 8.6 off my bmi to start the fertility treatment 🤦🏻♀️ husband also found out his quantity is lacking and he has a blood test on 07-01 to see if there is any underlying problems contributing to this🥺
Hi all, I was on the pill for 10+years and came off when I was 28. I have pcos and have periods very irregularly, I became pregnant naturally after two years of not being on the pill but not actively trying - it just happened. I am now trying for a second baby and as my periods are still every 3 months I have been told by the fertility clinic to go on Metformin. Has anyone been on this drug? I want to speed up my chance to conceive but also would rather not be on all the meds . Any advice ? Thank you X
I just started Metformin last week as I have irregular cycles and am hoping to conceive. I have heard it works well for many people! The first week has some tough GI side effects but I am really hoping for some normal cycles 🙏🏼
I know so frustrating then when you do get pregnant doesn’t last 😪😪😪
Im 35 and been married for over a year. TTC and came off the pill after 10+ years in October and just been diagnosed with PCOS last month. Currently waiting to see an endocrinologist to hopefully help me ovulate and get us pregnant with our first.
I was wondering if anyone has had experience with an endocrinologist and if it lead to a BFP? Im also considering just to skip the endocrinologist and go straight to IVF - but feel like my minds racing and don’t want to take a hammer to crack a nut (i can be dramatic)!
Love to hear from other lovely ladies and their stories. x
I have PCOS too, and after a year and a bit of TTC we managed to conceive on our own (not through IVF Australia where i was seeing my specialist through) while on 1500mg metformin (after many failed “cycles” trying many different medications such as letrozole and clomid).
Here’s what else I think helped me;
- Seeing a dietician that specialises in PCOS! She recommended that I try a low carb diet where I only eat 45g of carbs a day in the one meal. No limits on dairy, protein or gluten. It did my head in at first but once I planned it all out, and stuck to it, it was easy.
- Exercise - weights and resistance training 3 times a week, walking 5 times a week (not far/strenuous but just moving!) and keeping up my dance classes (cardio) 3 days a week.
- Reducing my alcohol intake.
- Taking a Myo-Inositol supplement from Inositol Australia.
- Trying PCOStowellness Cysterhood tea (unsure if this helped but it was yummy!).
Everything above resulted in me losing weight (about 8kg total) and looking/feeling the best I had ever felt - and then I had my first cycle on my own and we conceived.
TTC wasn’t an easy period of my life and it was a lot of trial and error (lots of trials and lots of errors) - and we almost turned to IVF - but we kept going.
Everything is different for everyone with PCOS though. You will find a way. Let me know if you want to talk ever ❤️
I have been trying 6 years and just found out I got pcos syndrome
And my hormone levels are higher in the wrong hormone they are saying it’s all bvos of weight
I dunno what else to do I have about 5 stone to loose to even meet the criteria for help
Does this even happen naturally?? I’m at a whits end now any tips
I’m sorry to hear that :( my husband and I were trying to conceive naturally 7 years and I gave up thinking it ever would so started trying to lose weight and save for ivf privately and now I’m 9
Weeks pregnant all naturally. I swear it was all because of the reproflexology (fertility reflexology) the lady I see id worth her weight in gold. I wish more people knew how amazing reflexology can be. Maybe you may have a fertility one bedside you? Also I’m so overweight. Had about 12 stone to lose and I lost 3.5 which I also think helped but to be honest it’s probably more the healthier lifestyle because I’m probably still heavier than you
Thats beautiful. I have got pcos as well. And i was on the pills for almost a year . Now as we are ready to conceive not sure what will be the results. I have stopped taking the pills now though but will it be possible?
My doc also gave me pilla for pcos. What pills were you on? Did the pills help reduce the pcos symptoms?
Hey megha, sorry to reply late. She gave me 2 different types of pills for a year . Yes it did helped me lot with some side effects though . This year on Jan it was my last month for it. My cycles were on track till April as we are trying to conceive as well but I didn't get my period on may and again waiting for this month . Preg test came neg so I am now bit worried if it's gone back to what it was before 😔
Hi ladies! I just got my AMH and it was 5.03 we’re waiting to hear what the dr says... should I be concerned that this is PCOS...
Good evening. I am 29 and about to be married in 5 months. I haven’t been “trying” yet, but have not used contraception for 2 years. My periods are absent, with the last occurring after I had my iud taken out. With my age I want to get pregnant soon, but I fear that I’ll be unable to conceive even with medical assistance.
It’s so hard to feel like I’m disappointing everyone and myself. It’s hard to be happy for friends and relatives when they share their pregnancy news.
Any advice would be appreciated
Hi Stephanie! This may be late, but I advise on speaking to your OBGYN or a reproductive endocrinologist (RE) on prescribing Provera to jump start a bleed if you haven’t already. If you aren’t having periods, that means you aren’t ovulating, so you might also want to see if you can get on letrozole (ovulation meds) as well. Conceiving with PCOS can happen as long as your PCOS is being treated.
Hi all, I’ve recently found out I have PCOS after being on the pill for 10+ years. Desperate to conceive but worried about complications and how difficult the journey will be

Hello, I am 35, recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and PCOS.... I’ve heard a lot of success with Keto but I’m not really sure where to find good information. Everything I search of course says more carb and more fruits n veggies. Can anyone recommend Keto recipes n tips? My doctor said my levels are now regulated but I must lose weight to increase my chances of conceiving naturally. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I was low carb when I finally got pregnant after 6 years of trying. I had been pregnant twice before but miscarried both this one stuck and now I have a 2 year old when we get back from vacation I’m gonna start keto and hopefully will get pregnant again. My dr recommends keto for all her patients who have pcos.
Can you explain how keto works ?? And the low carb??
I love this. It gives me hope. I’m here for any of you if you need or want to talk. My story sounds so similar it helps.
Has any one had to have a polyp removed? Can someone please share there experience
Have you ever tried the keto diet it helps really well with pcos I have read great reviews
I also have PCOS, although I noticed that I lost a significant amount of weight each time I got pregnant (60+lb). My eating habits also changed, I had consumed less processed food, less sugar (soda mainly), less meat, more veggies and fruits, I exercised regularly, drank water mostly and ate and snacked regularly. I also stopped taking all my meds that were so called helping me with doctors guidance. I started quitting them one by one slowly. I’ve been pregnant 4x and have had 2 kids. Good luck, I hope this helps 💖
Everyone suffering with pcos should look up soy isoflavones.. I couldn’t get pregnant for over 5 years & the first time I took it I got pregnant! Make sure to research it tho I honestly really didn’t but I’m perfectly healthy & so is my 6 month old daughter.. it’s basically a natural clomid. Good luck to everyone!! 💫
Is it a tablet?
Yeaa.. you have to take a certain amount at certain times of your cycles. I forgot all the exact details but if you look it up you’ll find it.. if you can’t let me know & I’ll link you a video that I watched about it
Hi I have pcos too I watched a program on pregnancy and people in China with this problem drink peppermint tea with helps with fertility. After drinking it for a couple of months my periods regulated. Good luck peps hope this helps
Wow really!! I love peppermint tea so will definitely be trying this to regulate my currently non-existent periods 🤞🏼
I was diagnosed with PCOS after trying for a year. My doc told me to take Ovasitol. I also did 2 rounds of femara and trigger shots without success. On the third cycle I asked for a HSG. That same cycle I got pregnant with my almost 1 year old son naturally. I know it is so frustrating when you’re ttc and see others get pregnant but most people don’t share their infertility stories. Good luck!🍀
We tried for 14 years. 4 rounds of clomid. A miscarriage in 98. A stillbirth (due to cervical incompetence) at 20 weeks in 2012. A son born (clomid) Sept 2014!!! A daughter (naturally) April 2016!!!! I was almost 41 when I had her!
Took me 8 months, finally got there after two rounds of clomid
Hi! I also have PCOS. I managed to conceive naturally but I know not everyone can, for those that might want to try this is what I did. My periods were irregular until I did the following. I cut out dairy (this was a big factor) and massively reduced my sugar intake. I exercised regularly, weights and running. Resistance training too - this was also a big factor. I also limited my alcohol intake. I was at the peak of fitness when I tried for my first and it happened fairly easily but I did work hard at my fitness for a good year prior to that. After my first son it took me nearly a year to get pregnant again, I’m now 29 weeks. I did find it was harder as I wasn’t keeping as healthy as I did when I tried with my first. When I reintroduced exercise and started to watch what I was eating I fell pregnant again. I know it won’t work for everybody but if you wanted to try the natural route first, I definitely feel the above is what helped me get pregnant. X
Thank you for this!! Ive started going swimming and find it a bit hard with what i eat
It is hard, I’m a huge sugar addict too - love chocolate! But I found it so difficult to maintain a healthy weight. I had to cut things out and train hard to get regular periods and see a difference in my weight. (I’m huge again now being pregnant but I’ll take it). Are your periods regular? X
I got told at the age of 17 I have PCOS and was put on the mini pill to help with my symptoms. I now have 3 beautiful children and also have 2 Angel babies. I hope you find the help you need to conceive x
I had the same story. I was told at 17 i have PCOS. I was told i would never have kids. Took hormones for 1.5 month. Couldnt tolerate them. I would never take ocp they mess up all your system in addition to putting you at risk for blood clots and cancer. Most important thing of pcos is weight loss if thats a pb for you. The extra weight makes hormones that mess up your hormonal balance
What all have you tried? I suffer from PCOS and I can possibly help
I’ve been there girl, just don’t loose hope (even though it can be easy to get discouraged) but i was told i had PCOS and then TTC for 5.5 years before finally getting pregnant! i tried different birth controls on and off for the first two years and gave up. I didn’t like birth control and i wanted to do it on my own... and i did! so don’t loose hope in yourself, it will happen! best wishes your way!
So was it naturally or was you taking any medication?

Hello everybody, after my miscarriage I was told I suffer from PCOS; I was pretty sure myself for all the symptoms I was experiencing. Is there any helps to control it especially TTC?
Don't lose hope! It took 3 years but it happened. You never know what the thing will be to make it work for you because we are all unique... But the answer is out there and you'll find it!
I had PCOS prior to my pregnancy.. what worked for me was starting birth control then stopping. First week I got pregnant. You’re extremely fertile after birth control stops .
It may seem like everyone is getting pregnant easily but people don’t post their struggles either. People only share happy moment on social media. I was diagnosed during my teen years, with my first one, it took a year of metformin everyday, prenatal and provera 5 days a cycle before it finally worked. We’ve been trying for a second one over a year and this one was much more difficult. There’s ovulation apps you can download to follow your cycle, I got the flo app, ovulation kits I used to know when exactly to try, more metformin/prenatals/provera and letrozole this time. They checked the tubes too and were now almost 14 weeks along. Don’t lose hope! I also try to work out more to lose weight and took a supplement called vitex, helped a lot of other ladies. Good luck!
I was diagnosed with pcos a while ago when I was trying for my son who's now 13 I went for lots of tests and then got put on metformin which worked for me fingers crossed for you both hope it works for you as well xx
Have you tried the supplement Balance from Alani Nu??? It has AMAZING reviews!!
Did . It was the opposite for me . While taking it I was so nauseous. It actually took away my
Period . Once I stopped
It a few days later it started
Omg yes yes and yes I’m 23 and have been trying for baby 2 for 3 years and it’s exhausting. I’m over it.
And it’s like everyone around me is catching the pregnancy wave like it’s a common cold omg 😭
Right . Why can’t we caught a break .
Keto helped a few of my friends with PCOS get pregnant! It’s worth a shot!
I heard that as well .
Don’t lose faith! I have PCOS struggled with infertility for 3.5 years racing against the biological clock. So many days and nights where it felt so hopeless, but don’t give up. We are expecting our little one in January!! It will happen for you!
Hi hun have 5 children an desperate for 1 more recently been diagnosed with pcos fr ultrasound any tips to. Help me get pregnant xxx
