Hi, I had a bloody show on a Friday night and then contractions started 24hrs hours later. It was full on strong contractions 😖
I was induced I developed pre clampsia on a hormone drip was awful x
How can I tell contractions/Braxton Hicks from baby moving? I’ve been having stronger cramping and pressure the past couple days as well as increased (soft) bowel movements, and today especially lower back pain.
Honestly, I just felt off. He felt low, I felt more uncomfortable than usual. After about 7 hours I started getting contractions
Nothing my waters just broke at 35weeks.
Could not sleep at all! The contractions were so sharp and I as only 2cm! Trust me you’ll know 😂❤️
I lost my mucus plug and went into labour an hour later
I had a couple sharp contractions during the day while out grocery shopping, flu like symptoms a couple days before, and then my water broke and I was immediately in active labor 😅
I had a membrane sweep the morning I went into labor. It felt like irregular light period cramps at first, but over the course of the day they got stronger and more regular and I realized they were actually contractions.
I lost my mucus plug a little bit for a few days, and the day my water broke, I had ‘bloody show’ , that was the only sign I had besides my water breaking but I did not contract on my own. I had to be induced
Had some diarrhea. Couldn’t sleep that night even before contractions, but didn’t know why. What I thought was Braxton Hicks contractions just got more frequent and intense. I knew it was go time, you will too!
I had mild contractions for about half hour and then they got really bad, started at 9:30 was in hospital by 11 at 7cm. Never lost my mucus plug or waters. My little girl was born 6 and a half hours after mild contractions started. If you get in a lot of pain with contractions and it’s your first baby go into the hospital they kept trying to tell my to stay at home as it’ll be a few hours. Luckily my partner got on the phone and told them we were coming in and didn’t take no for an answer! 🥰 good luck!
Contractions...I was walking around 3cm dilated and didn't even know it. Thought the pain was bearable and thought nothing of it until my water literally broke.
I was having contractions for weeks and diarrhea but never progressed further until a few days before my due date. I lost my mucus plug but still nothing... I decided to get induced the day after my due date. My son was born the next morning...
None! Just started with intense pain at 12am got to hospital at 5am and was 5cm dilated... baby was born at 11:13. Lost mucus plug in labour and waters broke when I pushed

My water broke but instead of a huge gush, it was a slight trickle. Got to the hospital an hr later and they confirmed i was in labor. Dialated 1cm per hour, got my epidural at 5 cm, and got pitocin at 8cm. Total labor was 14hrs and pushed for only 15 mins.
Water broke like a balloon popping. Got induced.
My baby was moving more than usual the night before ( I was lay on the sofa, so was relaxed). I woke in the night to use the toilet then thought I was having a little tummy pain; didn’t cross my mind it was labour starting. Tried to sleep and they kept coming and going, so partner said to time it (again we both thought it couldn’t be contractions). They were short and close together and the pain started increasing, then I felt wet in my underwear. Went to the loo and there was blood, so contacted the maternity ward. Within two hours I had a baby in my arms and was in shock from a fast delivery. Period pain feeling is a sign (something I wasn’t used to) but I like that you’re trying to prepare yourself with what to look out for. Just try not not worry yourself about it.
My mucus plug came out almost a week before I went into labor. I had no pain, and my water was more like small inconsistent leaks. I wasn’t even sure, I went to the hospital and they told me I was already 6cm dilated and confirmed my water broke. The pain didn’t start to roll in until 3 hours after.
None! Lol 🤦🏼♀️ my water broke and that was that 🤪

I had diarrhea
The first time, mild contractions at about 3am. I didn’t know they were contractions though, I thought it was just the weight of him making my pelvis achy. Then in the morning when I woke up, I had a little bloody show, then I knew these were contractions. Second time, low back ache on Saturday that made me want to just sit all day and relax, mild contractions on Sunday that progressed in strength until we left to the hospital at 5am on Monday.
My mucus plug came out around 34 weeks and I had severe back pain , when I went in to labor unit they said I'll have my baby 35 weeks since I'm dialted 3 cm and it looks like labor is approaching . I had to be induced at 42 weeks so sometimes it might look like labor and feel like labor but in reality anything can happen.
I had contractions for 2 days at the end of day 2 my water broke. Contractions became soooo intence and painful right after the water broke and within 10hours I had my boy ❤️
Also thought I would mention about my waters. Mine went through out my labor (pretty much nearly gave birth at home) Mine wasn’t a steady flow but a huge gush which I didn’t expect due to advice.
Mine started with a ‘clear out’ followed by pains in my stomach that were like exactly like period pain. :)
You literally feel like you cant breath. Because the pain is so bad. Just delivered but I had a false alarm on Sunday and the L&D nurse said there are 3 stages to contraction, first your belly will still be soft like your nose when a contraction happens. 2nd your belly will feel like your chin, kinda hard but still pretty soft during a contraction. 3rd when you really want to be at the hospital is when contractions make your belly feel almost as hard as your forehead. Also another sign is if your water breaks. It will be a steady flow and you WILL soak through pads and clothes super fast. You definitely want to go to the hospital because labor can been near instant for some the moment the water breaks.
the only signs I had: I was having a lot of bowel movements for a few hours before I went to the hospital, very soft sorta like I was sick, and I getting more contractions closer together ... and the pain was increasing and closer together. I actually didn’t get to the hospital until 6 centimeters. Keeo track of the time between and how long they last.
I lost my plug the day before I went into labor
I didn't really have any. I have some low full back paid and random period cramps but even during fetal monitoring they didn't see anything. They ended up scheduling me to be induced. They checked me in, I went to sleep, I woke up in labor and she was born in like 3 hours. This is my first, I had no idea what to expect, and from what I hear it's not normal to happen that way. Make sure you request a belly band or whatever they are called. Itll help your abs and everything get back to normal. They should give you one if you ask for it.

When should you ask for the belly band?? I haven't heard of this before.

My waters breaking was my first sign. Good luck!
Mucus plugs can come out weeks before labor
I got sooooooo restless! I could not keep still, let alone sleep, to save my life! Then I had small contractions and prodromal labor for 6 days. I had to go in and be induced to get my little guy to make up his mind!
With my first: mucus plug around lunch and what I thought was Braxton Hicks but looking back realize it was early labor. That night, woke at midnight with what felt like strong menstrual cramps which turned into active labor through the night. He was born about lunchtime that next day. My second: woke to water breaking around 4 am, I was just 35 weeks so went to hospital. Had cramps again leading to more active labor which this time includes back and hip pain. He was born the next day around 1 am.
I thought I was having Braxton Hicks turned out to be real labor and I was at 8cm when I got to the hospital had been laboring all day and the nurse wasn’t too happy I waited so long she said if I had waited any longer I probably would’ve had her In the car 🤦🏼♀️
Bowel movements that felt like I was going to give birth on the toilet. And my contractions felt different and more painful.
Lost my mucus plug over the course of a week, then one morning my discharge was clear, water broke a couple hours after that
I had a sweep and had cramps, pains, with lots of pressure in my girl part plus my bum and was just sleepy alot then went into full blown labour with no warning
I lost my mucus plug around 15 hours before contractions started, but I just had a feeling as soon as I lost the plug.
I had back labor before my water broke.
Mucus plug then cramps that got worst and worst as time went on... Those were the contractions and I didn't know until I was at the hospital and on the monitor three hours later. Back pain started and I felt like I had to go to bathroom, but I didn't. 🙂😊 good luck! And congratulations! Praying for you!
1st. Mucus plug, 2 days later water broke. No contractions until the bumpy hospital ride. 2nd. 2 day migraine and high blood pressure. Was induced. 3rd. I tried EVERYTHING. Got dilated to a 4 and lost mucus plug for weeks jammed my toe in a door at the hospital on accident and my water broke. As soon as weird things started to happen I knew lol
Baby was moving around for at least 30 mins around 11:30 then stopped at midnight to let me sleep, then at 2:30 in the morning my water broke while I was a sleep. Took us about 30 mins to get around and get to the hospital. I had him via csection at 5:22.
Back pain
I literally had no idea I was in labor 🤦🏽♀️ I was on bed rest the whole last month of my pregnancy and was in so much pain. I woke up at 2am one day because the pain was unbearable and went to the hospital they said I was 3cm dilated. The dr came to break my water 2 hrs later and it was completely gone 😰 I didn’t even know when or how long my water had been broken. But my labor was really fast I was in labor only 8hrs pushed for 2hrs

Lol that’s how I think it’s gonna happen with me 😂 I seem to only get contractions at night and could totally see myself waking up and saying “oh I think I peed myself” AND THANK YOU ❤️❤️
I had my membrane swept, then that night, i had cramps similar to period cramps, and it progressed throughout the night. I kept trying to poop, but nothing came out.
I lost a large chunk of my mucus plug after my first sweep at 38 weeks, was still 5 days late! It continued to come out through the weeks leading into labor!
I had zero signs except my water broke!

Same here! It came as a hugeee surprise to me 😂😂
I was 6 days overdue when my forewaters broke at 4am. Called the hospital as it wasn't a lot of water; felt like I'd peed myself. Had a test done at 6am, I was in labor but had no contractions. Was sent home and ended up being induced the next day as my contractions never started and my waters never full broke. I was told it was important that I'd gone in because as soon as your forewaters break the risk of infection to the baby goes up and you must deliver within 48hrs.
Ha! Same here. During my 37 week appt my ob said my daughter was breached. I was asked to come in a few days later to see if she had turned yet and my water broke as I was leaving my home 😂
