Birth Control after Baby- Fertile Myrtle

I have 4 kids and terrified to get pregnant again .I put IUD non hormonal and fear to be around my husband baby is 3 months and when never had sex .

I had the nexplanon. It wasn’t horrible I just wanted a period and wasn’t having one yet after 18 months. But besides no period I had not problems with it at all and if I remember right it’s a 3 year birth control. It didn’t hurt to get put in but getting it taken out took awhile (only because I let my mom do it who has only done it once before me,she’s a nurse practitioner) it’s not normally that hard or long to get taken out.

I had one too they’re nice but I just wanted my period to be normal

I HATED the mini pill. The SECOND I stopped breastfeeding I switched to the patch and I am in LOVE. You keep it on for a week then switch it for three weeks and leave it off for a week to get your period. I remember to switch mine on Wednesdays when I pick up the garbage :) I had my son, took the mini pill, and six months later got pregnant with my second because i remembered to take it MOST days, but not EVERY day.

I'll just be practicing abstinence

I'm choosing to take the pill while breastfeeding as well. I guess I'm hoping fear of having another baby will be my alarm every day.

I switched off the mini because it’s way to easy to get pregnant again with it if you miss a pill just by hours so I switched to an iud for a year then got it taken out

Currently I have the iud and I LOVE it. I dont bleed and I don't cramp. I was scared too honestly but my doctor was very assuring and I dont regret anything!

I’d recommend the implant , I’ve had it twice now and had no complaints and it lasts 3 years so no worrying about taking the pill or having injections etc

I had this problem too! I’m breastfeeding and at home with baby and I just could not keep up with that schedule. I’m scared of IUD’s too. I got the Nexplanon implant in my arm and it’s great. It’s the 3rd time I’ve had the arm implant and I’ve never had an issue, lasts for 3 years and I never have to think about it.

I used the patch and had no problems😊 yah it’s not the prettiest thing but I put it in spots nobody sees but me!

Do u still,have a regular period with the patch?

Yes you change the patch weekly for 3 weeks then the forth week is the “off week” and that’s your period week but I was told you can skip it by wearing a new patch that week!! I didn’t care having my cycle normal tho

Are you planning on more? we have a 1 year old and a baby due next week they’ll be less than 13 months apart, hubby got a vasectomy 3 months ago.

We’re in the same boat and we practice Natural Family Planning / Fertility Awareness. I love it so much because it allows us to both know what’s going on with my body - overall health and fertility. There’s nothing harmful going into my body and no surgery either! It does require the sacrifice of some days of abstinence every month, but love requires sacrifice doesn’t it? :) Plus it’s awesome to show love and affection in other ways besides sex sometimes. There are several methods - we use Sympto-thermal and I wear a TempDrop every night to record my basal body temperature.

How did you get about natural family planning? Is there somewhere I can go to learn about it and jump on it too?

We took our class through the Couple to Couple League, and then there’s a website called sympto.org!

Try an IUD. There are horror stories about everything. For most people they work well but those stories aren’t as exciting.

I just tried the mini pill perscribed from the hospital after birth. Had horrible side effects, spotting, angry, moody When I followed up with my primary I was told it was not tolerated very well my a lot of wemon and was perscribed nuva ring. So far working great

I use the Ava watch to track my cycle and contraceptive film (Basically spermicide) It works, and you can use it in the moment so it’s not something you have to remember every day.

How does the spermicide work? How do you apply it? How do u get it?

The ring is easy although you have to remember to take it out and put a new one in every 4-6 weeks.

It’s the same “medicine” as the pill just without having to take that pill everyday. The pill was all that worked for me without side effects (I tried literally everything else) but I just couldn’t remember to take it everyday. But weeks I can deal with. Just have a reminder on my phone what day to switch out.

Does anyone have the copper IUD? Im,getting mine put,in on the 9th. What are your experiences?

I have the iud and it’s the best birth control for me. Never had any problems with it.
