Help a momma!

So let me start by saying I don’t cook not that I don’t want to I just don’t know, but I do try tho. I cook here and there but we eat out most time and at my moms. My son is still on formula and he eats mostly everythingand was doing great. Well he got sick (cold, cough and throat) he lost so much weight he didn’t want to eat but he started eating and drinking his milk again still I’m super worried that he’s going to get malnutrition. I need some advice of ideas to feed him or Recipes that I can cook for toddlers, something for beginners in the kitchen or if anyone has a recommendation please help!

I dont know how old you're toddler is, but my stepson loves dorito chicken tenders. I found the recipe when he was 3 lol. You just take the tenders, spread mayo on them, and roll them in crunches up doritos then bake. It's not the healthiest but its healthier than stuff like Kraft mac n cheese and canned stuff with all the preservatives lol

Doritos are filled with preservatives and so are chicken nuggets ... just saying- not trying to dog the recipe.

Learn how to make smoothies and tell your kid it's ice cream! 😉 Super healthy. Loads of nutrients. I make mine with frozen berries/fruits, spinach, milk/Greek yogurt, and protein powder (I buy the jarrow unflavored kind on Amazon so there aren't artificial flavors/sweeteners and it's not too expensive). Don't need any ice if you start with frozen fruit.

My kid loves the easy made rice stuff and velveeta mac cheese

How old is your son? I have some fun friendly toddler recipes I can send you. Just message me if you’d like them. Also, I love making healthy homemade ice cream. It’s a fun way to get your kids to eat healthy!

Mango and avocado are high in fat for tods! My daughter has finally gotten her weight up by eating whole milk yogurt (with granola in it so she thinks it’s cereal) and she loves it!

Make him some red lentil bean noodles. Super easy and taste like regular noodles but tons of protein

Smoothies with fruit and yogurt!

http://onehandedcooks.com.au/ and https://redtri.com/ Have some yummy recipes

Take him off formula and give him cows milk?

Get a Slow cooker! Xx

Thanks you so much ladies, it’s been a lot of help what you all told me. He is eating more now and getting better 😍

Fruits. Veggies. Smoothies. Protein packed pasta made from chickpeas or veggies. Cheerios. Hemp milk instead of formula/cow. Oatmeal with chia seeds. Frozen organic premade meals. Yogurt with fruit. Cheese (my girl only like babybels!). Veggie Soups. & once you play around with these things you’ll fall into a routine ☺️

Are we? Lol

Oh beans (great in iron!) & rice! & pb&js!!!

I would give him fruit. It’s sweet and full of vitamins. When we are sick food can be unappealing so healthy sugars may help! Also muffins are a great way to get kids to have things like spinach or zucchini they may not otherwise eat. My son loves health muffins and he has no idea I stick veggies in them! I use honey and a bit of organic sugar if needed. Hope this helps 🙏

You can also give him pediasure if you’re worried he’s not getting enough.

Add chia seeds to anything he eats! It’s filling and a superfood!

When my son was young his favourite meals were always a little bit of everything, I would put a variety of things on his plate and always switch it up. Toast with butter or peanut butter, cheese, crackers, fruit, veggies, meat(ham, pepperettes cut up, kalbossa) granola bar in pieces, cheerios things like that. It was always super easy to put together and he loved it

Multigrain toast with pb, bananas. Those are my kids go-to foods. All kids also love pancakes, not just for breakfast! Same with eggs toast and fruit you can have for supper or lunch too. I use this pancake recipe and sub whole wheat flour & unsweetened almond milk and add frozen blueberries. I double the batch and my kids like them cold out of the fridge for a snack too. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/162760/fluffy-pancakes/ You can make an easy spaghetti over whole wheat pasta too with jarred tomatoes sauce, there’s even some that say vegetable on the jar that have some veg in there, add in a can of lentils just drain and rinse under water in a pasta strainer (Colander). Or just butter and grated cheese and some boiled frozen peas or chopped broccoli on pasta.

i usually put food (cereal) in her milk bottle if she isn’t eating normally. when my daughter refused milk sometimes she would like to suck on an orange or pineapple.. something “ citrusy “ .

Also make sure he is getting animal protein. Babies and kids specifically need “heme iron” and protein. Veggie iron is good but they need the animal iron the most. Crockpot chili is so good and easy.

How are you doing? Have you found some recipes you can use for your son?

Try Pinterest.... they have so many great recipes

Check out Joe Wick’s weanin15 Instagram page and sr_nutrition for great recipes for babies/toddlers and children. And possibly even yourself

Avocados have a lot of fats and vitamins and should help. Steamed sweet potatoes and quinoa is a good one.

I totally recommend wholesomebabyfood.com. The site is amazing!

My son loves things like a bolognese (meat sauce) on pasta. Giada has a super simple recipe I can send you. Has veggies in at as well. Or a simple shepherds pie. I have another simple recipe for that if you want it. Recently is into noodles like the Japanese udon ones, very soft. You can also buy that almond milk that has banana puree in it. I was giving almond milk for a bit during a stuffy cold to see if laying off the dairy helped ( I'm allergic myself and it swells my sinuses) and I started giving the banana milk cuz he loves bananas. It's loaded in calories and I was fattening him up! 😬

I’m in your shoes. I use Postmates.

Grandma S.O.S that’s the best help I can give you.

I would start with scramblers eggs and plain toast! It’s a simple meal and protein and fat from the eggs are filling but not heavy. It’s my go to if my son isn’t feeling well or being a little picky. He goes through phases of not wanting to eat but that combination never fails.

My son had similar issues. I get him the toddler growing formula and give him 2 bottles a day that way I know he’s getting the nutrition and vitaminshe needs. You can also get children vitamin gummies it tastes like candy so he should like it! As for food try blending up smoothies and adding small bits of greens. My son is picky but he likes fruits and crackers.m, Chocolate milk with protein added, peanuts. good luck!

Ask your mom friends to have you over next time they’re cooking and have them teach you some of their recipes and tricks! That way your kiddos can all have a play date, you get friend time, and you get to learn some new stuff to make your sweet little one. Your friends won’t judge you for wanting to learn and do more for your baby. They’ll be proud of you. (I’m proud of you for asking and I don’t even know you.)

Try Small pasta noodles are very cheap Some steamable broccoli and some cottage cheese mix together it has a lot of protein In it and gets the vegetable in there

Mashed potato, bitesize boiled veg, pasta & sauce / bisto gravy

Have you tried Mac and cheese?

If your little one is sick please don’t give him any starch, white flour or things like beans/potatoes. They will feed his illness. Instead opt for fresh fruit(raspberries, blueberries, pears, dates, etc,) veggies (green beans in a little veggie broth, sautéed carrots, squash, zucchini) My husband and I are herbalist and when our son gets sick we usually keep his meals light and try to give him warm herbal teas with herbs like tulsi, shillajit, fenugreek, etc., If you need any help please don’t hesitate to message me ♥️

Try Annabel Karmel recipes, missus - she has some cracking recipes for little ones.https://www.annabelkarmel.com/

Thanks mommas

girl you should message me! i'll give you some recipes and teach you how to make stuff! my mom never really taught me how to cook but my mother in law taught me a lot of recipes used in el salvador and i have just expanded from what i learned..i'd be glad to help out❤️

Hiya. Sorry your little one went through that. My friends LO went through something similar, she was worried for so long, tried almost everything. If you like I DM you what she did. Her LO is happy and healthy now, and she's managed to drop some baby weight as a bonus! 😉 Don't worry and send me a message if you want to talk

http://www.babyledweaning.com/ ^^ tons of great ideas there! Avacado, coconut oil, peanut butter (healthy fats) are all good stuffs for keeping him thriving and happy 🥰

I follow Evelyn Dominguez on YouTube for recipes. My daughter had a hard time as well. Went from 28lbs to 39 in less than 10months.
