Ingrown Hairs have made my bikini area unsightly.... I've tried EVERYTHING!

My bikini area is just wrecked with ingrown hairs, and hyper pigmentation and scarring from previous ingrown hairs. There are also stretch marks. My hair is naturally thick, black, and curly. I've trued chemical peeling, tend skin, completely bare, pure tropics, exfoliating, brushing,scrubbing.... The condition has ruined my sexual self esteem and poolside confidence.... I also have ingrown hair and scars all over my legs from them.... Thankfully I have tanned well so it all evens.out in color.... But still.... I've tried everything... HELP??!?!? 😭😱😨😢

I also have no advice but am here for moral support! This is my life! Summer is the worst! 😭 I care less about my plus size body in a swimsuit than I do about my legs/bikini line. I just can’t get a clean, beautiful shave! Uhg.

I feel ya.... Thank you for your warm wishes haha I am just so fed up of feeling like everyone is looking at my flaws ... Black curly hair sucks lol! I even had a soooo much arm/back/nipple/facial hair mustache sorta during puberty (yes puberty hated me Hahaha) but thankfully I've managed to control that with epilation and waxing!😊😊😊

I have advice!!!! And it’s funny because I was literally just talking about this with my friend today at the beach. Anyway, there’s three things you can do to stop the ingrowns. 1. Exfoliate like crazy. 2. Shave using conditioner (I swear it works, google it!!) 3. Afterwards, use some type of toner/aftershave with alcohol in it to close your pores. It stings a bit but not too bad. You can use alcohol wipes or perfume that has alcohol in it. Eventually, your skin will get used to it and you can skip steps 1 and 3 and just shave using conditioner. Again, I know it sounds weird but it works!!! I hope this helps 💚

Hahaha you know it's not a topic that is talked about much so that's one mad coincidence! 😂😂😂 thank you so much! I exfoliate daily but I like your consistent approach, I guess I just find it hard to get into a routine! I'm definitely going to give the conditioner a shot too 💜💜💜😍😍😍

Definitely try the conditioner and the alcohol toning after to close up those pores! I used to get them allllll the time and tried everything; now I’m at the point where I just use the conditioner and haven’t gotten one in months!! Good luck!

Folliculitis is very common! I get it real bad shaving no matter what I do. No matter what razor, conditioner, exfoliating, etc. the only thing that doesn’t give me it is sugar waxing! No bacteria like regular paraffin waxes that cause the nasty infections!

I feel you girl and it’s gunna take time but the best thing I ever did for my bikini area was exfoliate EVERYDAY!! And nair! Throw that razor away! Either wax or nair lol that’s my only advice

Black salve amazon has it and there is a brand in the stores called pride lil orange container like a lip gloss you’ll find it in the men’s dept usually at drug stores

I work for a dermatologist and it’s an easy fix ! Get clindamycin to prevent it, it’s called folliculitis

I use a trimmer instead of shaving. It’s worked well for me. It have a men’s schick hydro styling razor.

You should try using essential oils. Specifically tea tree oil and lavender mixed with a little bit of coconut oil. It works wonders for me!!! I use YoungLiving essential oils and they are a lifesaver for multiple things.

I only get them at the top of my bikini area but they are so hard to get rid of. This is the first summer I seem to be getting it under control. I have been exfoliating like crazy and am using bikini zone.

Use charcoal soap. You will be surprised how well Charcoal soap works. I use it for everything!

Well, I suffer the same. What helped me a lot was to get laser done in that area, or wax.

I used to have strawberry pegs really bad. That’s when you can still see the dark hair/pores even after you shave. I used benzonite clay and exfoliate every shower and it went away!

I buy something called “Anthony” from Macy’s. Works great

I struggled for YEARS I then went and had laser! Changed my life! No hairs and no scars! AMAZING!!!!!

I’m an esthetician that used to work in a Brazilian wax salon and this is really common with people who have curly hair. What is your form of hair removal? Are you shaving?

I used a disposable razor once for each shave. I read the bacteria can be a culprit for in grown hairs. I started feeling guilty for being wasteful so I switched to a really good shaver that you can change out the blades. The old school kind. I clean the blade after each use with alcohol. Both methods have worked for me.

Tend Skin! It’s a holy grail toner that prevents ingrown hairs!! It closes the pores. Look it up!

The one thing that has solved this issue for me was laser hair removal! And I do not regret spending the money on it one bit.

How much?

IPL. If you’ve got dark hair and fair skin, it’s as good as gone.
