I used to do every other day and use bathing wipes in between to keep her feeling fresh till she started crawling
Honestly I've bathed my son every single day since he was 3 months old. Because let's face it babies just sink. I just put lotion on him 2x a day.
When my son was 4 months i gave him a bath twice a week. In between i would take a wipe or a wash cloth and wipe him down. Now that he's 8moths I give him a bath every night
I bathe every couple of days, daily if they are extra grubby. Normally once solids start we go to daily baths 1 to help maintain a good night time routine and 2 dinner is messy haha.
Mine is 15 months and we do baths about 2 times a week but we wash up with a wet wash cloth before and after meals. If he gets into something or is dirty he gets an extra bath. He tends to have pretty dry skin and so do I so I try not to bath him too much
My baby is 6 mos and since he was born, he’s mainly been only getting baths 1 a week but i do wipe him down with a warm, wet towel everyday.
We bath each evening as part of our bedtime routine. Have done so from about 1 month.
Honestly I feel like all babies are different regardless how they are in age and skin 😂I bathed my daughter every other day and now that she’s about to be 2 she takes baths about 3 times a day I know it sounds crazy don’t shun me but I like my toddler clean🤷🏽♀️always have. I made sure to completely dry her off and always put lotion on her I feel like it’s up to you and whatever you see fit my babys skin never dried out and we’re still using the same lotion from the very beginning
I bathe my daughter everyday and use product every other day
I bath my 3 month old every night. To get into a sleepy bedtime routine. He is quite a sicky baby so he does need it. Plus he enjoys it. His skin hasn't dried out at all and he smells delicious 🥰x
We just water bath at that age for night time routine!
Daily
I think what your doing is fine every 2-3 days is good that shouldn’t dry them out at all that’s what I did with my son
Every day since she was like 2 weeks old. Her bath water was a little dirty every night and I’ve always lotioned her afterwards so she’s never had skin issues. It’s a part of her night time routine and I usually bathe her after the park too. I hate being dirty so I like to bathe my baby when she gets dirty too.

Since my baby was about about 6 weeks old we started bathing her every night before bed time just to create a sleepy time routine. We only shampoo/use body soap every 2-3 days though. The other days we just let her splash around for 20-30 minutes (we call them bird baths lol). She’s 10 months now and she does great every night with her routine. It’s bath, pj’s, bed time bottle, then sleep. And she doesn’t put up a fight ☺️

I love that! Little bird baths haha 😆 we’ll probably start doing those soon and definitely in the summer time

When my daughter was smaller I used to bath her once a week also as it can dry their skin out too much.as she grew older number of baths increased shes now 15 months I bath her every day mostly sometimes every other day.
I bath him right before he gets stinky and has build up. At 4 months I bathed once a week. Sometimes I skipped a week. In the summer I bathed him 2x a week because he’s sweaty.
We've been bathing daily since my daughter was about a month old as part of her bedtime routine. We don't fully soap her down at every bath, though. She gets her hair, hands, feet, and butt soaped every night, and then the rest of her got soaped once or twice a week until she started solids. Now she's coating herself with food at dinner time, so she's getting the full soap several times a week 😂

I do feel like solids will change the game!
We bathe daily too. I was worried about this and didn’t want to mess with her PH so young, so I asked the ped and she said it was fine. Our nightly bath helps us go down for the night.

I’m excited to start using the scented calming nighttime wash and lotion and incorporating that into our bedtime routine, we’ve been avoiding fragranced wash and lotion until now but we’re ready to bust it out!
I bath mine more based on were going somewhere and as needed. As needed can be days he won't settle or how dirty he is
My sons 14months and I’ve bathed him every day since he was 3 days old. I just always make sure to moisturise him after his bath so his skin doesn’t dry out xx
I bathe mine every day when they were babies too i would take time after the bath to massage lotion on them they are fine
I do it every other day
I take my baby in the shower with us, so he gets washed as frequently as we shower (which varies depending on the day/week).

I’ve been mostly taking him in the shower but the past few I’ve been setting up his little tub. I’m not sure which I prefer yet... do you worry about him slipping in the shower? / what precautions do you take? We have a washing mitten I wear on the hand I hold him in in case he gets squirmy while soaped up lol
I think as soon as they turn 6 months then it should be every other day due to getting stinky from spilt food and also above 1 as they start running around and get sweaty and muddy. Before 6 months it was twice a week as they don’t really get dirty.
I used to do every day when she was smaller cause she liked it, and still does love bath time but she splashes too much and makes a big mess plus I’m working now. So we do every other day or every third day sometimes. She’s 10 months on Saturday

I bath her in the big bath now. We use a laundry basket to keep her and her toys contained
He’s just starting to play with our temperature ducky in the bath I know he’ll start splashing too soon 😅
I bath my baby everyday at 7:30 before bed.. just a quick one and moisturise after ... it helps settle him and I’m hoping it sets a routine I can stick to 😌 x

I love settling into a good routine!
I did the same as you’re doing at that age (and still do at 10 months). He pretty much just gets a bath if he seems to need one, which usually works out to being about once a week.
It just kinda works out that way and seems to be enough
Lately I have been doing it about once a week. We keep him clean with wipes, but when it gets warmer, we will up the amount of baths.

Definitely think it depends on the water. Chlorine or not
I think our baths will increase with the weather as well, but we plan to be swimming a lot this summer so I’m not sure how that’ll effect his cleaning
We did and still do every other night. Sometimes skip a night if she is cranky and already super tired but we definitely try for every other. We also use lotion after every bath as part of our routine.

I only do it when she needs it, but we contend with poop explosions regularly so can sometimes end up being every day 😂

Oh man I feel the poop explosions, they go waay up his back It stopped when we switched diapers tho.
We used to do it every other day till she turned 1- then it was every night but every other night to wash hair. It’s been the same up to today (she turns 2 sat)

Congrats for 2 years mama!
I’ve been giving my 6 mo a bath every other day since he was 3 mo. I upped it to everyday but I don’t wash his hair everyday. It’s part of his bedtime routine and he LOVES splashing in water!
4 month old baby girl here~Quick bath daily and she loves it.
My babe has a quick bath every day before bed. I’ve heard about drying out their skin too but he gets so messy and I just moisturise well after with pure coconut oil. If he’s really grubby or wants to splash and play he has a longer bath. If he’s tired it’s just a quick wash. Never more than 30mins though, it starts to feel cooler by then and I’d get him out. Totally up to you really. I only do it as per of bedtime routine and he loves it, plus we do BLW and he makes a mess x🤣
I do every second night, but not because he’s dirty. The bath tires him out and makes him sleep better

Ours has a bungee jumping contraption we put him in some night before bed. Haha I get that
I give my LO a bath everyday because he genuinely enjoys bath time and it helps him wind down before bed!

Same here. I never let my baby get stinky. Just the thought grossed me out 😥
You are doing a good thing. Most babies don’t need a bath so often but washing your baby when she/he needs is good enough.
We bathe every 3 days but if we skip a bath for example she just had her jabs or just we are not home staying somewhere else I just wipe all her creases and her whole body with cottons pads and warm water so would suggest if you’re bathing your boy once a week do at least twice with cotton pads just so he won’t get any rashes or sores x it takes like 2min to do that and my baby doesn’t mind it all x
4mo & we do it every morning. She drools like crazy and she ends up stinking. Not to mention the occasional diaper explosion. I use Dove baby, no lotion after, and haven’t had any problems with her skin. This has been our routine since she was about 2 weeks. Honestly just do it however often you’re comfortable. If he stinks it’s time for a bath lol
I was like you. Once a week and I would wipe him down with a wet cloth around his neck and face. That was when he was little. Now he's a raging tot so maybe 3 times. Or when he's dirty.
Our LO takes baths almost daily. We don’t wash her every time, it’s more like letting her play in the water for as long as she likes. I imagine it like letting her go swimming. I grew up by the ocean and was in it all the time so I don’t see how being in water is a bad thing. Just don’t wash them with soap or anything unless they need it.
We do once a week, sometimes every 10 days. Even at 1 and walking around he doesn’t get dirty except for his hands and we just wash those in the sink. He doesn’t seem to need more than that. Even his bath water doesn’t look dirty. Btw he’s a cutie!

It’s nice to see other moms with a wider bathing schedule lol. & thank you! I think he’s so cute
Update: a couple weeks ago I found out that milk dribbles down his cheeks and collects behind his ears so I’ve gotta get more through with the wipe downs! It’s gets crusty and stinky. But the cutest little stink lol
I do every other day and a nice wipe down when needed.

Two days in between sounds good enough. I wouldn’t go more than 3 days. I would wipe my babies down every day with a soft rag & water (neck, legs, arms) but bathe them only 2-3/week.
I feel like 3 or 4..? Days between is where we’re at now and it’s just a little too long. Thank you I think 2 days would be perfect without overwashing 😂
Every other day babies dont get too dirty i did wipe down necks and behind earz since milk goes there
1 reply
I try to keep his hands and face clean with a warm washcloth I’ll consider a more through wipe down!
I use to take my child a bath once a day and after each bath I moisturized her with preventative rash ointment under her diaper and calming lotion for her skin which helped her fall asleep, you could also do bird baths wipe him down with a damp towelette and make sure to moisturize btw love that bath tub 😊
1 reply
We do moisturize after each bath ! And just started last night using our calming night time lotion. & the bath folds up for storage ! It’s fantastic
Yes girl! If I feel dirty after an activity I wash him too, I never want him to be any less than I am
