My sister in law waited until their baby was about 3 months. Mine is four months and we still haven't. I don't feel comfortable letting anyone watch him until he 1. Sleeps through the night, 2. I am ready to stop breast feeding, and 3. Really when I feel we would both be comfortable. Probably the earlier we would do it is 6 months for a trip that's no more than an hour away for one night in my opinion

Ook that’s good. Definitely depends on Baby and how comfortable you are. My son sleeps through the night and isn’t breastfed. He’ll be almost 5 months when we go and feel comfortable with my parents having him the weekend but I’m nervous about it since it’ll be our first time ever leaving him a weekend.

Yeah I am sure it will be harder on you than him ;) since he is formula fed it will be easy for grandparents too!

Never and my kids are 4 and 18 months :(

Oh no! :( I’m nervous but I also want adult time.

Hahahahahahahaha this is a joke right? Ummm after my daughter was born hubs deployed so she was 15 months before he got back and we spent a weekend alone. She’s 4.5 and my son will be a bit over 2 when he gets back from this next deployment so we will probably take a weekend away to reconnect but aside from that, probably never.

3 months here, but because we have family and he’s formula fed.

Ook same here. He’ll be almost 5 months by then. Needing adult time. Lol

My little one is 11mths and we haven’t left her overnight yet. We don’t have any family we’re comfortable with so we’ve only ever been out to dinner alone after she was down for the night. If my mom were still alive, I’d have left her overnight for sure probably around 3mths, like I did with my oldest.

Aw I’m sorry about your mom. I can’t imagine. :/ I wouldn’t either, it’s hard to leave them with ppl you trust. 😣

2 months after my first son was born hubby and I went to Jamaica for 4 days. I pumped once in the morning and once at night for a month in order to save enough milk for him. Now with two little ones our only vacation is a trip to the supermarket together. 😊

Ook that’s not bad. We’re staying in the states for the first time. A few hours away. We only have one so we’re trying to have some adult fun. Lol. No responsibilities for a weekend.

My son was 4 months old when we left him overnight with my mom for the first time. It was a 2 night trip 45 min away from her house. We left him again with her for 1 night when he was 6 months old and stayed one night 45 min away. At 8 months old we left him for a night with her and stayed in a hotel in the same town. At 10 months old we left him with her for 2 nights and stayed about 2 hours away...that was definitely bit anxiety provoking. My mom lives out of state and she is the only person who can (is willing to) watch him over night as he still feeds (formula fed) every 2-3 hours at night so we always try to get away for at least a night whenever she visits us or we visit her. We probably won't take a longer vacation until he starts sleeping more through the night.

Ook that’s not bad. We’ve done the going out for the night and just sleeping over my parents house thing but we haven’t actually gone anywhere to vacation since having our son. He sleeps through the night and he’ll be almost 5 months when we go. Just the weekend tho.

Oh girl after being pregnant for 9-10months and then becoming a mom you deserve a vacation. I took a vacation after I had my son but I brought him along and had family help. But he was a great baby. But if you feel your ready to leave your baby no matter what anyone says you know what’s best. You deserve some time. Have fun!

Then go for it enjoy yourselves because once they’re bigger things get different. And you always need time to reconnect with your significant other after having a baby.

Thank you so much!! I’m nervous about it but also ready. He’ll be with my parents and I trust them completely. Plus we’re doing a few other vacations but with him. We wanted to throw a couple one in there. Lol

When our baby was 2 months we went away for a 2 day vacation and left her with my mom and dad. Don't hesitate to take the time you need. Pregnancy and birth and taking care of a newborn isnt easy. You deserve that break!

Thank you mama!! It’s so true!! It’s the best thing ever being a mama but I’m exhausted too. Haha!

You're welcome! Haha I feel exactly the same!! :)

Girl go on that vacay! In a week my little guy will be 6 weeks and it’s also my bday. Me and the hubs plan on going out so our guy is going to stay the night at my parents! Can’t wait for a night with my hubby alone! Love my little baby boy but mom and dad need a night out! Enjoy that vacay and do not listen to anyone who judges your parenting. You do what’s best for you!

Well said! Everyone is different so I totally understand people who don't leave their babies for a night or 2 until they are older, but I'm also tired of judgemental people. When we left our daughter with my parents for a night a lot of people acted like we arent good parents. Like saying "oh well I just didnt feel like I could leave my little baby like you did" or " I didn't leave my kid til he was 6" etc. I'm like, that's great but I don't need your judgment.

Thanks girl!!💙 yesss mom and dad time is so important. I feel like alittle time apart from Baby and being with just with the hubs will give not only a break and refresher but also make you a better parent b/c you’re well rested. I hope you and the hub have fun and happy birthday!!🤗

We still have yet to take a vacay!

My kids are 5 (almost 6) and 2 and I still haven’t.. I’m a crazy mom and don’t want anyone watching my kids but me!!!

I long to take a vacay but I don’t see it happening anytime soon 😕

Why not?

2 year old and we still haven’t... we bring her on our vacations. Next month we’re taking my mom so she can be with my daughter while we spend alone time.

That’s the way to do it until your ready!

My daughter is 15 months and we still have not spent a night away lol

That would be a smart idea. I do know we are going to try and spend a night away soon but I breastfeed so having a hard time thinking about it lol

Can you take a sitter WITH you too?
