Just found out I’m pregnant after 2.5years of trying 🎉

I’ve self referred myself to my local hospital trust but this is my first and I’m just looking for some guidance on how long it took for midwife/GP to contact everyone back?

Thanks, I’ll try and stay patient

Once I’d self referred via the website. Midwife called me the following day. Congratulations 🎉

Wow that was quick turn around. My email said 48 hours but it looked like an auto response

Congratulations. I can appreciate the ecstatic feeling I my pregnancy was a lifetime happening. They are a blessing, she was 8 weeks old yesterday. I referred myself and I was contacted in a couple of days for an 8 week appointment. (different times though) I then phoned up my GP at about 20 weeks for my flu and whooping cough jabs and they had no record of me being pregnant. It might be worth still giving your GP a courtesy call to let them know for their records. Wishing you happiness for your family. Xx

Thank you. We were referred for fertility tests but the last appointment before our plan was drawn up was cancelled due to covid-19. A month later it’s happened naturally 🥰 Hopefully timelines aren’t too altered 🤞

I have been wanting a family for over 15 years. Last summer at 46 years old I conceived via IVF. She has been born into strange times but is a blessing which I never thought that I would have. Xx

Congratulations ❤️ so happy for you xx

Thank you 💕

My GP gave me a number to call to self refer, when I called the number an appointment was arranged then. I had to wait about 3 weeks but they gave me phone numbers in case I wanted to talk to someone xx

Congratulations! i got two letters in the mail from my hospital about 5 days after my GP referred me. They were appointment dates for my 8 week booking appointment & 12 week scan x

Perfect. My GP receptionist said I had to self refer and the midwife would let them know but she didn’t sound confident. Xx

I don’t know how things differ now with the virus it may be a bit more slow, but i would give it a week then chase it xx

Congratulations sweet 🥰😘 my midwife got in touch within a couple of days but that’s before this virus hit. Xx

Thank you 💕 I’m hoping it’s not too different for me 🤞

Just try to relax, I know it’s nerve wracking waiting. But trust me it’s the best thing. We tried for about 3 years, got pregnant but it didn’t work out. I sort of gave up thinking about it. Then got pregnant again and I’m on week 28. But just trying to stay relaxed and listen to my body. So spoil yourself, be kind to you and do nice things while your waiting for your appointments 🤗🥰😘 xx

Congratulations 🥳

Congratulations! This is such an amazing news. My midwife called me the same day but I know it can take a bit longer. I called the GP directly and asked for the midwife’s number. Do you know how many weeks you are? X

I’ve estimated around 4-5 weeks so early days. My GP wasn’t overly helpful when I called this morning.

So excited for you! Some midwifes don’t see the pregnant women until 9 weeks. I was lucky and she saw me at 6 weeks. So don’t get upset if you need to wait a bit longer. During your appointment all they’ll do is measure your blood pressure, learn about your family health history and advise you to do a flu vaccine. I don’t remember if they took my blood test during the first appointment or second. You might want to buy a pregnancy book and start reading the information and advice available. So you don’t need to depend so much on seeing the midwife 😊

Congrats hun , your time is here ❤️

Congratulations 🎉 Mine was Saturday too! Ah how exciting! I had to do another test on Sunday to be sure! Xx

I did a test Friday night but we couldn't believe it either and did two tests Saturday! 🤣 Super excited for you!! 🥰

Congratulations! We took 18 months to conceive. We were on the waiting list for fertility treatment and managed to conceive naturally! I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy :)

Congratulations hun. Xxxx

Congratulations, I found out at 4 weeks and had to wait until 8 weeks for 1st midwife appointment, called me at 7 weeks to confirm appointment. The 1st appointment was done over the phone took around 1hour, she asked family history etc. 2nd appointment was the next day in person, given notes, took blood pressure, urine sample took around 15mins

That’s really helpful thank you. I’m guessing most appointments will be completed over the phone where possible.

I think it depends on your area. Where I live all appointments are still face to face x

I've been told my 16 week appointment will also be over the phone to discuss blood test results and also she will book my 20 week scan. The 1st appointment took ages to come around but from the 1st chat with the midwife I've spoken to her regularly since then. I'm 13 weeks and 2 days. Enjoy your pregnancy x

My 16 and 25 weeks were face to face as I’m struggling with anxiety. You can always call them if your struggling xx

Congratulations! It took us 2 years to get there and it's the most amazing feeling. Hope you're on cloud 9 xx
