how can I dry up breast milk fast!! (Please don’t judge my decision.. to each their own)

Sooo I really wanted to breastfeed my baby from the very beginning and went into the hospital with that plan in mind. After baby was born and it was time to feed he wouldn’t latch no matter what I tried. They had me expressing and putting drops on my finger to put in his mouth... I felt like my baby wasn’t getting what he needed though so I’ve been formula feeding since I brought him home. My boobs leaked a lot & would become engorged so I would only pump to relieve the pain this went on for about four days until I just stopped leaking all together. a few nights ago I woke up to a little lump under my breast that was so painful took ibuprofen and it went away. Well same thing happened last night again and now my boobs have been leaking like CRAZY. why did it stop all together and randomly start again?? I haven’t touched or messed with my boobs in over a week and a half. How can I dry everything up fast?!

I had similar problems including clogged milk ducts which sounds similar to your story. I just pumped exclusively for about a week before it seemed to start drying up on its own then I decided to start waiting slightly longer intervals each time. I had initially tried to pump to give to my son but once I switched to pumping it naturally started drying up on its own and he had no problems with the formula so we just made it permanent. When I stopped getting more than an ounce each time I just stopped pumping.

Don't ever feel guilty for not being about to breast feed your baby. If your baby is being fed thats all that matters. Some baby's just don't want the boob. It happens. My son didn't and he's three and going strong. Ive heard there are certain foods or teas that can help dry up your milk. You could also consult your pediatrician or OB

You know what my family always said it’s going to sound weird lol but get cabbage 🥬 and put it in your bra .. I did it with my 2 boys and it worked .. it helps dry the milk up

But make sure you change them I wouldn’t keep the same leaf in your bra for long period of time .. I would change the leaf every 2 hours but it def works wonders :) hope this helped

My husband's side of the family all suggested i eat garlic, like a clove of garlic on its own to stop breastmilk coming through once i stopped, i got pregnant straight away so never got round to trying it, so i don't know how effective it is but apparently worked for them
