Pumping advice

My little one is 1 week old and I would like to be able to give her expressed milk through the night feeds as I struggle to stay awake during breastfeeding and I would like my partner to help. I have the Medela Harmony manual pump and wondered how others got on with it and what times of the day you found best expressing as I tried last night and didn't seem to get anywhere, whereas if I use a breastmilk collector I seem to get a good amount while my girl is feeding from the other boob, however it is recommended that you mix collected and expressed milk. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks :)

I don’t have the harmony pump but I do find early morning is the time I get the most milk. I also collect milk with the haakaa and haven’t had an issue with foremilk vs. hindmilk, try to hand express the milk and empty your breast with it by squeezing the top part and I think it will be ok! @karrie_locher on IG has a highlight explaining the two different types of milk, I’ve also heard pediatricians say “breastmilk is breastmilk” and my LC told me I could use the haakaa exclusively some days without any issues. FTM and not in healthcare, just my advice. Getting one feeding off was a huge game changer for me!! Good luck!
