gender reveal ideas !!

Have any of you mommas done a gender reveal ? I love the idea and think it would be super fun to find out with our friends and family but I’m having some difficulties coming up with an exact plan. If you have any suggestions/ stories of what you’ve done I’d love to hear them !! 💖

I did a small one with just mine & my SO’s immediate family. I’m not really into huge reveal parties but I wanted to do something since both our moms were so excited to find out. We filled water balloons w/ different colored paint and had everyone throw one at a wooden board and the last one was pink. Then we used the dyed board to do a painting for her nursery on. 💕

It was really fun! We were going to choose his older sister to be the only one that knew so it would be a surprise for us too, but once we got to the hospital for the ultrasound I couldn’t wait and decided I wanted to know right then 😂 so him & I just put it on ourselves at my mom’s house!

That sounds like such a fun idea ! We definitely want to keep it small too, did you have someone who knew and planned it? Who did you chose to know ahead of time

I did and people didn’t realize it was also a baby shower so we didn’t get gifts lol. We had these little streamer pop things. Like a t-shirt gun but smaller and with blue or pink strings

Awww that’s too bad! How did it work? Did it have a good effect or would you do the actual reveal differently if you could ? And did you chose someone to know and organize it ahead of time ?

My mom helped. No I loved it, the only thing I would have changed would have been to specify it was a BABY SHOWER with a gender reveal lol

Our was very simple. We just did a gender reveal cake :) pink or blue on the inside of it.

Did you have someone find out ahead of time to organize it? If so who?

It was just me and my hubby who organized and then ordered the cake from the bakery.

Mine was small! We did the theme “boots or bows.” We did a couple little things like we put out new born diapers and everyone decorated one for us so we went to use them they had little notes on them from the family, we did a take a guess tree so the guests would put their thumb in either pink or blue paint and put it on the tree and write there names on it, and because it was small we just did cupcakes and everyone bit into it at the same time and in the inside it was the color of the gender 🙂 wanted to do a little more but no one really rsvp so we kept it short ☺️

I had the doctor put the gender in a envelope and I brought the envelope to the baker told her the gender was inside and she went from there ☺️

I love the theme !! Too cute and our plan is to keep it small as well as I already know it’ll be hard to get an accurate number of people coming, no one RSVP’s anymore 🙄 who did you have order the cupcakes ?

We did scratch off tickets that we mailed to our family and friends. We don't live near any of our family so it was a fun idea then we announced it on Facebook to anyone else with a little photo shoot with our oldest daughter.

What a fun idea !! We may have to send a few to our out of town family, make them feel included too

It was super simple I just mixed equal parts of gray acrylic paint and dish soap to make the scratch off stuff I even added pink and blue glitter to make it fun. We hand made our cards then used clear packing tape over the scratch off area then painted the paint mix over it. Then for my niece n nephew I sent smash eggs. I took eggs popped small holes on the tops and bottoms of the eggs and blew out the egg yoke and whites I let the shells sit for a few days to dry out. I took tissue paper am elmer glue and sealed one hole let that dry over night then I opened the top of the eggs a little more to add a TON of glitter and confetti I then sealed it again with tissue paper and glue let it sit over night and then let my older daughter paint them pink and blue. They loved being able to smash an egg tho my nephew wasn't happy we were having a girl lol

We did a black balloon with coloured confetti inside. our doctor wrote down the gender and put it in an envelope to give to one of our friends and then she ordered the balloon and confetti.

This was exactly what I wanted to do but I can’t decide who to give the envelope to, I was thinking my mother but I want to see her reaction !

Haha ya it's hard to pick. I gave it to my bestfriend and then she avoided me like the plague until the party because she was scared of spilling the beans.

I had all of my family stand around in a circle and gave everyone a popper from party city that pops out confetti in pink or blue and someone recording to get everyone’s reactions

These make the cutest videos !! We’re torn between this and popping a ballon

I wanted the balloon but got nervous if it would accidentally pop before we were ready and ruin everything

We did silly string! We had a few guests spray us. We didn’t know the gender and neither did they.

How fun!! Love this idea

I wasn't making cups when we did ours but I recently made a cup that changed from white to pink for a couple at their party. They had no idea how they were going to find out until they walked outside and her cup changed colors in the sun!

That’s awesome!

We find out our babies gender in 2 weeks. We plan on having my husband smash a color powder filled golf ball to reveal the gender. We can’t wait. We have 4 boys already, fingers crossed for a baby girl but another sweet boy is my second choice 😉

Do you have older kids? I love the gender reveals where the older kids find out the gender. I haven't done one myself, although I wish I had, but I've seen some great ideas on pinterest.

I don’t but I love those too!

I did scratch off cards for friends and also for any family that lived out of town and then for my immediate family, I did a little poem for some of them with a gift and then personalized aunts/uncle cards with gifts for the rest.

We filled balloons with glitter and had enough for everyone to pop one hung them from the ceiling so it rained blue glitter

Well did it outside patio thing so mostly blew away but there def was glitter everywhere

How fun!! Was it a mess to clean it?

At Walmart they actually have the whole gender balloon kit thing .. and you can take it to Publix and they will do it for you!! The set is so cute and the color confetti comes out when you pop it !

I’m doing a piñata for mine and having my step son and nephew reveal the gender (there both 2years old ) 😊😊

A huge suggestion that I think is brilliant is have guest that are for boy bring wipes and girls bring diapers! It gives you a head start.

Dang good idea

Love this idea

We did a Dr suess theme for our daughter "One fish new fish pink or blue fish?" Then for the reveal we had a fox in a box with pink balloons For ours son we just did little things with each family I can't even remember what my family did not want us to do a party and I wish we would have.

We used the hashtag #ourfetushasapenis when we announced our pregnancy because isn’t that really what a gender reveal is. Lol

I saw a funny idea the other day. A dozen hard boiled eggs and one raw (the one raw would be colored for baby’s gender) 6blue and 6pink, the parents took turns cracking them on their head until one of them found the raw one.

I went to a gender reveal party where the mom pitched a baseball to the dad and when he hit it the ball exploded pink! It was so cute and entertaining for everybody to watch

That sounds lovely, do you have any pictures or videos? Xx

We had the ultrasound tech write the gender on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. We then took that envelope and a huge gift wrapped box to party City and gave both to the associate, and told her to fill the box with as many pink or blue balloons (according to the paper in the envelope) as could fit. We also had a gender reveal cake that was blue (it was a boy) on the inside and frosted with gender neutral colors. We threw a huge party and had everyone wear either blue or pink to signify their guess at the gender, and we did some old wives tale activities that are supposed to predict the gender. We had a small goodie bag for the people who correctly guessed the gender, and when it was time we opened the box full of balloons then cut the cake! It was a ton of fun. We also Facebook live-d the reveal for friends and family who couldn't make it. It was a blast

My sister in law smashed the cake made out of cream to her husbands face with pink inside. It was my husbands idea lol

Our gender reveal is next weekend and since I’ve always been into cars, My cousin is gonna do a burnout reveal and our siblings will have confetti power poppers/cannons.

Alsoooo, i signed us up for this online gender reveal game, but we haven’t had much support yet. https://genderrevealgame.com/game/6389 Check it out!!
