After martenity leave I had to go back to work. The thought of leaving my daughter left me depressed. My job was not very flexible I had to work nights and sometimes I had to look after my daughter after a night shift . It was hard .

I ended up having anxiety and depression. I had to give up my job and find a bank job where I can work when my daughter is in nursery. It’s things like these that affect mothers . I was also arguing a lot with my partner due to stress . My job was the main trigger. Look after your mental health I would say . And put your mental health first !

I totally agree. It's all about self care.

Indeed Lauren xx

I can relate to having to adjust and change my job but this has been gradual as my child has got older. I was fortunate my employers were flexible which allowed me to return to work. I do know others who weren't so lucky like yourself.

True . Some employers are not very supportive

Have you managed to speak to your GP or is this something you don’t want to do?

Have you been through this?
