Plus size mommas

I'm barely 7 weeks in and already dealing with the "please take better care of yourself" advice from the few friends and family I've told about the pregnancy. If you've gotten this too- I'm here for solidarity with you. We're doing the best we can, right?

The assumption that one is plus sized because they eat crap is soooo stupid and ignorant! Like people have different appetites and bodies and histories! You can’t judge. I eat better than many of my thin friends. It’s exhausting!

It took 4 medical professionals before 1 of them actually said congratulations. We've been trying for 4 years, so the doom and gloom that seems to comes with being a bigger mum is getting me down!

I lost over twenty kilos in the year and a half before I got pregnant. Was at a really good weight, and now 4 weeks pregnant have already gained 3 kilos (6 pounds). Websites say 2-4 pounds in the first three months! What have I done?! It's so discouraging.

Don't beat yourself up, that's one thing I wish I hadn't done. For me, I gained a lot of water weight so it could be that. If you are living healthy you will go back down once you have the baby, just make sure they get here healthy!

I feel your pain, it felt like my doctor's were trying to find a reason to induce even when I was healthy. I ended up having a c section at three weeks early because I was "high risk" aka "not the right weight"

Unfortunately, they used my blood pressure as an excuse (after a longer walk in from a parking deck plus nerves) while I was tracking at home much lower (and told them).

Omg that's atrocious. I'm so sorry. They can do that??

I’m going to go against what most people have said, but being overweight is bad for your health, especially in the current pandemic where being overweight/obese is proven to cause more complications with Covid. Rather than be annoyed at people for looking out for you and your health you should take their advice on and be a healthy weight for yourself and your future child/children

I call bullshit entirely. Why are 90% of the covid patients healthy or fit then if they are so healthy and won’t get covid? You need to go somewhere worse with your judgement attitude. Also do research covid doesn’t give a shit who you are what you do. Look at the rock, Tom hanks, babies for Christ sake are getting it. Doctors nurses. You are completely clueless!

Please take your fatphobia somewhere else. No one has been giving me advice. They begin and end with "you're fat." That's an observation.
