10 month old night/early waking

My 10 mo is doing so much better at sleep (finally!). He has two good naps in the day (about 1hr 15 min) and is put down in his cot awake always for the first and then either in his cot (put down awake) or in car or pram if we’re out for the second. He is cuddled to sleep at night (7 bed time and sobs if we put him down awake hence why we help him to sleep) but always wakes once at night (somewhere between 3-4.30) and takes so long to get back to sleep (1-1.5 hours). I usually end up breastfeeding him back to sleep and then it’s not long before I wake him at 6.30 to start the day. Any advice how to stop this waking as I’m shattered!

Why don’t you go in at 3 and dream feed him? Then hopefully he won’t wake and then will sleep a little longer? X

If you end up feeding him anyway, just do it before he wakes up for the hour and then you’re not all awake for that extra time in the night x

Thank you for the advice. Is it possible there’s anything I could do so he could go through completely without a feed? He doesn’t always need one. Particularly if my husband goes in, I think it’s more just because I’m there (breastfed baby)

Why do you wake him to start the day at 6.30? Some babies just want that extra feed to go back to sleep Is he teething?

I’ll be going back to work and he’ll be starting nursery soon so I’d like us to be in a routine before then so it’s not a shock to the system

Ahhh I see. Some babies wake up during the night, that's just them does he like white noise, a night light that would soothe him back to sleep

i see this post is already 6 months old but omg this is me and my daughter 😭

gro egg and white noise too 🤣
