Sleeping on Belly

My son is now 4 months old and has learned to roll over onto his belly at night. I always make sure that his head is turned and not face down into the mattress. After a recent visit with the doctor however I was told that he absolutely should not be sleeping on his belly yet. I feel like the doctor scares me into doing what she wants. I did a little research and despite what the doctor said the articles I’ve found say that if they roll over themselves leave them. I just wanted some advice from other moms on what they thought. Should I listen to the doctor or do what I think is best for my baby?

If they roll over on their own then i leave them. I'm on my 3rd baby who's just learning to roll over now. Just out of interest could the doctor tell you why it's bad for babies to sleep on their tummy?

Your baby is fine. Dont stess yourself. My baby started doing this around the same time and now she refuses to sleep unless she’s on her tummy. There’s only so much you can do to keep them on their back and ultimately they will do what they want

If they are rolling themself, have nothing dangerous in their bed, and can lift their head I have known it to be 100% ok. Unless you kyerallt watch them 24/7 and get no sleep yourself, how else are you supposed to prevent it? Rolling at 4 months is a strong baby.

I’m pregnant with my third and was always told once they start rolling onto their belly, it’s fine. How in the world do you keep a baby from rolling onto their belly anyway? You’d be up all night constantly rolling them back over. Leave him be.
