8 years, but I am in the outpatient methadone clinic to prevent relapse, I have two therapists one for my former drug abuse and INE for my mental health issues. It’s actually quite easy for me to stay clean because I never want to live or be like that again god gave me a chance to get clean and I took it and never looked back. I hated myself, my life when I was using I even hated the drugs but I needed them so I wouldn’t withdraw. I was trapped & I thank God he got me out of that situation I was an addict for ten years, homeless, using needles I damaged my health and hurt everyone who loved me but I’ve came a long way I have a beautiful baby girl and will never let her down. It’s not worth it.
In less than a month I'll have 7 years
I took my last drink March 11, 2014, and smoked weed for the last time Jan 2, 2014. I went to my first AA meeting on St. Patrick's Day 2014.
Thanks for sharing @Tasha! Has it been 7 years since you've had a drink or 7 years since you began working on your sobriety. I started working on my sobriety 10 years ago. 10 years ago, I picked up my first chip!! I have been drug free (sober) for 21 days. They say it's a 21/90 type of thing. The first week was rough! The second week the craving was almost non-existent. This week, I struggled a bit. I know I'm going to have rough patches. Whether it's been 7 years since you started working an honest program or 7 years since you last drank you're here and you've been here and that's an inspiration for everyone in Recovery Mom's!
