I did the D&C. With Letting it pass on its own & taking the medication there’s a chance that you will still need a D&C to get the rest of the tissue out.
Went through the same heartbreak last May so my heart goes out to you, I decided to let is pass naturally.
I took the pills when I had mine. Back then (2008ish) they kept you in hospital for the duration of the pills working. When they finally worked I have real contractions every few minutes and pushed out a small foetus (that looked exactly the same as one of those toy aliens in the eggs - if you know which toy I mean) really sad. I also got some placenta stuck in my cervix and had to have that removed. 😢awful experience but I think I’d probably choose the pills again or natural... xx
When this happened to me I gave it a month but body wasn't passing it so I had them book me in to have it removed.
I had one at 11 weeks, baby was only size of 6 weeks. I had a second scan a week later to check that it hadn't grown. I was just told to stay off work as I'm a teacher and basically just had to wait for it to happen. I wasnt offered any kind of intervention.
It hadn't changed size and no heartbeat. I had already had spotting, that's why I had the first scan. Then after a few days I had the heavy bleeding. I had another scan after to check everything had come out so didn't need any extra intervention.
Hope it goes OK for you, it's a tough thing to go through emotionally. I know everyone's different about how they feel after but I was just desperate to be pregnant again. I gave it a month to have a period like they recommend and then I was pregnant again the next month, and now sitting with a 5 month old baby. Apparently your more fertile after a miscarriage
how was the scan a week later? i’m not sure whether to wait for it or just take the medication and pass it :(
