Meal Ideas

Any meal ideas for a 13 month old that are pretty quick and easy but still nutritious? My husband stays at home with my one and two year old so he usually needs something simple.

Steamed veggies with some grilled meat or rice. Pasta. Cous cous or quinoa with tuna or something.

Roasted broccoli with sweet potatoes and salmon. Use grass fed butter .

I have a wonderful recipe for a pasta dish (my fave). Its my favorite dish to make. Bacon Spinach Pasta Dice bacon and put it in pan, once bacon is almost done add onions. Once onions are caramelized & bacon is crisp... put them all into one big pan... then add 2 cups of chicken broth & 1/2 lb of pasta (i use campanelle)... bring it to a boil, as soon as it comes to a boil stir it & turn the heat down to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes. After 10 mins the pasta should be tender & most of the broth should be absorbed. There should be some broth at the bottom, it should be a little thick too. Then add fresh spinach & stir until it is wilted into the pasta. Then sprinkle Parmesan over the top!

My daughter loves cheesy broccoli rice around that age and grilled cheese, I could prepare the cheesy broccoli rice for my husband before and he could reheat during the week for little

3 ingredient banana oatmeal pancakes, Grilled cheese, black beans, scrambled eggs, soup, sandwiches, smoothies

Leftovers from last nights supper with some fruit on the side meet all your criteria lol. I have a bunch of easy make ahead recipes that have been successful with my toddler recently (if you have Instagram check me out @macmanor_mama, I often put them in my stories when I do my weekly meal prep and then add them to my highlights under everyday).

Shake and bake!

I may be alone here but I feel 13 mo is pretty young for meals. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We did blw with lots of snacking at that age to supplement high protein milk because we’re vegan: fruit so much fruit, frozen peas, crackers, chips, beans, tofu w/ soy sauce, Ohs, noodles, toast, oatmeal, muffins...

It’s all at the discretion of the parent IMO. My son was down to nursing only a handful of times a day so he needed proper meals at that age (it took a long time to get him liking milk from a cup).

What’s your high protein milk? Curious. I’m not a fan of cow milk and would love for my kids to have another option that was healthy.

Fried rice loaded with veggies and protein is a favourite of my sons! Quesadillas, pasta with homemade cheese sauce with peas and ham, grilled cheese. tortellini with cream sauce, Italian sausage and spinach (another household favourite that kiddo devours). Pm me if you want more ideas! Pinterest is a really good resource for meals, too.

I like to look vlogs up on YouTube to get a good idea. Snacks that I like and are easy are the no sugar added fruit cups, yogurt and steamed veggies and potatoes and for protein, my son just always eats off of us. I’m always looking for new things to for my son too cause I find that when he eats small but still plentiful frequent meals, he wakes up less to have a bottle at night.
