Yea as soon as my son turned 3 months which he is now 4 , i am losing my hair in clumps like crazy.... 😩😩😩

Keep taking your prenatal vitamins those will help. They're for pregnant and postpartum women. But it is super normal, but nobody told me this either LOL, and I was freaking out because my hair was coming out in handfuls and my daughter's hair was coming out too. And I was super concerned, But found out that it's normal

Don’t worry it gets better!! I started losing mine once my son turned 3 months and it slowed down around 8-9months. I felt like I was going bald but really it didn’t show. I just could never have my hair down because I would shed everywhere. But it all went back to normal and new hair was growing back. Have no worries you won’t go bald!

Get extensions. My friend got some b through her salon and they looked really good. They also sell them on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Ugeat-Extensions-Striaght-Accessories-Temples/dp/B072BR6255/ref=asc_df_B072BR6255/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309733728867&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6966040748757066648&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007853&hvtargid=aud-465585855334:pla-571192370097&psc=1

Extensions are not a good idea during serious pp shedding. They add weight to the existing hair and help to pull it out.

Thanks mamas, I knew to expect some hair loss but I didn’t think we were talking clumps!! I’m taking my vitamins so I guess that’s all I can do. If it’s supposed to even out when your hormones do I suppose I’m in this for a while since I’m nursing.

Same 😩 then it grows back all stupid baby hairs everywhere

That's what I'm experiencing now and it's terrible. I don't know how to manage all the tiny new hairs with my old hair. Every morning is so depressing trying to get ready for work. I'm ready to shave my head and wear a wig lol

🙋‍♀️ Same here mama ! Mine is currently growing out all around my hairline I look crazy when I put my hair in a bun without product lol

Mine has gotten worse every time. 😭 my hair used to be so thick before kids I could barley ponytail it. My baby is 5 months and it’s slowed down but still loosing it like crazy but it is starting to grow back finally.

It’s a result of estrogen. Hair goes through a growing phase then rests for a few months. Estrogen keeps your hair in the growing phase. When you deliver your baby the hair rests for the first time and more of it comes out.

While nothing can stop it since it's hormonal, you can help with the regrowth. Peppermint oil has been shown in several animal studies to be more effective than minoxidil (Rogaine). It's safe for everyday use and is of no harm to you or your baby/breastmilk. You can either put directly into your shampoo (~1-2tsp/16oz. Shampoo, leave on for ~5 min/until tingles, then rinse) or you can create a scalp mask with a mix of coconut oil and peppermint oil (a couple drops into a handful of coconut oil, scrub into scalp, leave on ~20min, then rinse & wash hair as normal.)

The peppermint oil acts as a vasodilator which is the same action of Rogaine. After researching rosemary oil, it too has this effect. My experience with peppermint oil is that it has not dried up my supply. I just follow scientific research to make my decisions, and it's worked for me.

Being a cosmetologist, oil enthusiast, and nursing momma I do know rosemary oil is best for helping regrow hair quickly. Also the use of peppermint oil can slow production and can even dry up breast milk supply so be easy when using especially topically since it is absorbed quickly!

I seriously looked as if I was balding like a man it just started to come back and my new growth is out of control!!! I look like a 6th grader with frizzy hair that hasn’t discovered a straightener yet 🤦🏼‍♀️ but I’m pregnant again so it’s going to happen again which really makes me sad

This sucks! But I'm glad to hear it's normal. I thought I was going crazy. I just noticed there's tons of hair getting stuck to my elastics every day for the last week or so. I have to cut the hairs off my elastic, and then the next morning I need to do it again. My girl is almost 4 mos. It's also starting to feel like she's growing my hair out of her hands, so much gets stuck to her. Ugh.

I didn't find that my hair was getting extra thick during my pregnancy.. but my baby is four months now and I'm just starting to notice hair loss. I'm not sure if it's typical postpartum hair loss or if it's because I honestly don't have time to wash it that often and it's always up in a ponytail or bun. But I also haven't been taking my prenatal vitamins in that time period. I did just start using a hair mask in the shower. Maybe that will help.

I just took a shower and ALL OF THE HAIR came out. Every time I'd run my fingers through my hair more would come out. 😭

Yes im taking multivitamins. N its growing back SLOWING BUT SURELY!!!😐😂😂

Mine is so bad it makes me want to cry everytime I brush my hair 😩

There are post natal pills you can take that can help. I wished someone had told me after I stoped breastfeeding to continue to take my prenatal pills at least to help strengthen my hair. I had so much hair loss it’s been a year and I’m still working on the issue.

I lost so much hair! Can't keep that beautiful pregnancy hair forever!

😂😂😂😂

I had bad hair loss as well I ended up cutting my hair. But I continued to take prenatal vitamins and started using biotin shampoo and conditioner from Costco. It HELPED!!!! Now my hair is growing back !

I do and I hate it.

Yes defo, when baby was about 4 months it became very noticeable. 😫

Biotin or the Olly beauty vitamins

I always tell my clients (I'm a hairdresser) to use biotin. Also I'm most cases what happens is when your pregnant you don't lose much hair on average you lose 100 hairs a day, so after you give birth all that hair you didn't lose is what's coming out

Unfortunately it’s 100000% normal and all has to do with hormone changes. No one told me before my first child and I’m even a hair stylist 🙃 but I see it all the time and have experienced it twice. It will stop. If you’re very concerned, I would talk to your doctor.

Have you had your thyroid checked?

It's completely normal, taking pre-natal vitamins helps. My doctor warned me about it after I gave birth.

I'm just start to experience this! I think I'm going to try to get back on prenatal vitamins

It's normal, prenatals can help but sometimes it doesn't... before you know it, your hair will be growing back in :)

It stops mamas 😘 don’t worry, it’s just the hormonal shift in our bodies, when that settles your hair fall will lessen too!

Totally normal, I knew it was going to happen but I wasn't prepared for the crazy amount that would fall out. Literally every time I ran my fingers through my hair I had clumps. I went back on my prenatal vitamins which I think helped. I have so much hair growing back in now, it stands up on end and is pretty funny.

Right around the third month, I had two patches of hair that were getting suuuuuper thin. It’s totally normal to experience hair loss due to hormone changes. Fortunately, mine stopped falling out and even grew back!

I’m sooo glad I found this I literally thought I was going crazy I didn’t get it with my first daughter but my second I was scared of going bald!!!

Girl I got you I sell natural based hair care products that were meant for hairloss

It's alarming, isn't it? My whole hairline changed! I lost so so much hair. It stops, and grows back , but if you're nursing, there may be more shedding cycles as nursing changes. Try to roll with it. You can't prevent it, so try not to get down on it. It's a year since I had that great huge hair loss, and it's growing back nicely. Xo

Omg I had this bad..😢😢

Mine JUST started and he’s a year old. 🤦‍♀️

Biotin Vitimans with collagen in them. Coconut oil on your hair at night, massage it into your scalp for about a minute and run it down through your ends. The massaging stimulates hair growth and the coconut oil strengthens existing hair.

Mine fell out and didn’t stop until around 8 months pp. 40% didn’t come back 😢

Mine is coming out in the front only it looks like i cut a piece of my hair off at the top and its slowly growing back!! I am taking sugar bear hair vitamins and massage my scalp every day I come in from work!!!

I had the same problem, someone told me taking prenatal vitamins helps so I started taking them again and it has definitely helped 😊

Same thing happened to me. Monat shampoo and hair products helped my hair tremendously!!

It’s heartening to know they do grow back. Mine are coming out in clumps as well 😞😞
