First night home with newborn...and haven’t slept a wink! Need advice!
I brought my precious little girl home yesterday and she’s amazing. This is my first baby so although I read a ton beforehand, I really am learning as I go. Our first night at home was rough...I haven’t slept at all. I figured she would at least sleep for a few hours at a time, but no such luck. Between the feedings and diaper changes (and outfits - diaper blowout already!), she also was fussy in the bassinet. When I give her a pacifier she stops, but then it falls out of her mouth and I’m constantly putting it back in or she cries. I tried getting her to fall asleep holding her then put her back in the bassinet without the pacifier, but that doesn’t last long until she cries. I have barely laid down and haven’t slept. I’m holding her sitting up in bed so I can at least be comfortable for a few minutes and she’s content, however I know I can’t do this very long as I don’t want to get to a point where I fall asleep with her in my arms! Help! Any advice on how can I get her to sleep in the bassinet?? Seems like she’s only content and will sleep when I’m holding her!
I have a co-sleeper bed that my Newborn sleeps in right next to me. Also, I have a fan going for white noise. You should also let her sleep during the day with lots of noise....they are used to all the noise from the womb
Put something that smells like you in the bassinet in the day time and make it warm with a hot water bottle before you put her in, worked really well with my little girl took a few days and she settled x
Soo cute.
For us the first few weeks she only slept in our arms. We used to take it in turns to sleep for a few hours or hold the baby. It gets better though!!
Wrap her in a T-shirt or clothing u have been wearing when u put her down. I had this slightly clingy issue with my daughter but that worked a treat.
