Does my baby eat too much?!

My 10 month old eats ALOT of solids. He’s on just over 600ml of milk too (which is fine), but with solids I can’t seem to feed him enough. As an example, he eats an enormous bowl of porridge at breakfast, one of the 10 month pouches plus fruit plus snacks at lunch. Then usually a mix of veg, meat and potato at dinner, yogurt, snacks. The problem is the portions. No matter how much I offer, he eats it all, so I don’t know when to stop offering and take him out of the high chair! I’m really grateful that he’s taken to solids so well but not sure whether to keep increasing the portions. He’s 75th percentile so not too worried at the minute, but people keep commenting on how massive he is. He can crawl but doesn’t seem that bothered to do it. Anyway have any advice? Xx

Speak with HV but I wouldn't worry too much, not at this age. My LG was eating loads then got poorly and had no appetite, so I'd much prefer a chunkier baby that's got reserves if they are poorly!

Babys are intuitive eaters! Aside from a very very few medical issues, they literally cannot over eat, so basically he's just a food lover and you're giving him some yummy meals. Don't stress it x

At my son’s 9 month review my HV said I was over feeding him. He isn’t eating solids (potentially ARFID and being seen by speech and language & dietician for his food refusal) and was only on 4 x 6oz bottles in 24 hours. She said apparently that was way too much so I’ve had to cut him to 3 bottles which he wasn’t too happy about. All the people we’ve seen regarding his eating said that at 10 months, the portion size should be 4-5 tablespoons with a small dessert (like baby yogurt etc) and that’s what we’re building up to. Xx

My LO is 30th centile and eats enough food to choke a horse! She’s still very petite though and just in 6-9 months clothing. Babies eat intuitively and know what they need, if they’re not bringing it back up or in any discomfort, I would personally offer until they show fullness cues x

My son eats a lot, had a 30g portion of readybrek yesterday and ate it all! Ate all his dinner to, with fruit and then a big bowl of yoghurt - HV was happy last time we were there :)
