Bump measurements

Hey don’t worry, it’s not your full bump! The midwife will feel for the top of your uterus and measure to there from your public bone. I did the same as you and scared myself but was actually measuring right on track!

Mine was measuring big but at my growth scan he was the exact gestation xx

I was measuring 25.5cm at 24 weeks 🙈 I’m above the 50th centile so a little worried he’s going to be a big baby 😆

I feel massive with the 2nd too!! xxx

@Katie it’s awful isn’t it!! I don’t know how else I’m going to stretch anymore I generally feel and look like I’m having twins! X

@Cheryl did you measure sort of lying down? Cos she’ll measure your bump whilst you lay on the bed so it’ll be smaller than when you stand up. Don’t forget there’s water and placenta in there too so it’s not 100% accurate for baby’s size it’s just a guide. You could have lots of water xx

@Yasmin I done it laying flat and standing up there was like 2cm difference between the two, I had this same thing with my first they said I was measuring up bigger so had to have another scan and I just know it’s going to happen again but I get so nervous about these sorts of things!x

@Cheryl ahh! Yeah I’m expecting a growth scan along the way too I think it’s second babies 😆 I’m only 4ft 11 so I’m hoping they won’t let him get to big 🙈 it does worry you when they’re measuring bigger, I don’t know about you but I’m more concerned about how I’m gonna get him out if he’s big 😳 x

I had my 28 week appointment on Tuesday and measured 3 weeks ahead at 31 weeks. Midwife says there is nothing they can do and won’t send me for a growth scan!

@Elizabeth really? I thought that was the next step that needed to be done when your measuring bigger!…

@Yasmin yes also that haha! They told me with my first that if I’m measuring big it just means I’ll be having a bigger baby and said he was going to be more of a 8/9 pounder so I was absolutely bricking it thinking how on earth am I going to do this naturally but when he come out he was only a dot 6 pound 15 so I hoping it’s more water etc again rather than him being big or anything else being wrong! X

@Cheryl apparently not in the South East, they only worry now if you’re measuring small 🤷🏼‍♀️
