I know what you mean. I’ve just finished mine, and I could not bare to do it myself. My partner was doing it for me

@Abbie my partner won’t even look at the needle without going queasy 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

@Toni I know. I couldn’t look either. The marks on my stomach are a wonderful little reminder. But lucky enough it is once a day not multiple times

I don't do needles (so the fact they canulated me, took my bloods and did a spinal is impressive). I got my husband to do mine, but he is a nurse so is used to stabbing people with needles

@Helen yeah my partner is a HCA so he did it easy enough for me

I hated them and I don't even have any problems with needles/injections but it always made me cringe when I actually injected. I skipped the last 2 both times tbh 😅

I have to do them for 6 weeks 😭😭 it's a daily struggle and after 3 weeks it's not got any easier

@Katy I feel your pain! I’ve found them getting worse and not better, also 3 weeks down, 3 to go 🙈

I had my husband do them for me, I couldn’t even tell you what they looked like as I couldn’t look at them 😂 I finished the 10 day course yesterday, by day 7 I was in tears saying I couldn’t take them anymore but I just kept thinking that the benefits outweighed the bad and how awful it would be if I got a blood clot for the sake of the extra 3 days of injections! You’ve got this, only 7 more to go and you can forget all about them x

Where are you doing them on your body? I did mine in my belly and swapped from the left to right every day. I just grabbed a handful of fat and kind of looked away while I did it. Some days hurt a bit more cause I did it too slowly but on the days I just jabbed them in quick I didn’t feel a thing. I know it’s shit advice but grab what you can of your belly and do it quick 🤣🩷

@Jamie I’ve been alternating either side of my stomach, I iced the area for 5 minutes beforehand this evening and it stopped the stinging sensation but it made it a lot tougher ringer the needle through

@Toni it’s probably easy for me to say because I’m not scared of needles they don’t bother me but honestly try to just not look directly at what your doing (I know that sounds silly cause you have to see what your doing but try to focus on something else) and just do it super quick. Although I’m not scared of needles I just didn’t enjoy doing them everyday but as soon as I was ready to stick the needle in I just thought about my daughter and thought I have to do this incase something happens to me and I can’t be there for her. Sounds so pathetic but it worked and I got all 10 days done🤣you can do it trust me! X

I couldn’t do them, my Husband did them and he alternated in my thighs as I’d had an Emergency C-Section and couldn’t bare something near my tummy. I skipped the last 3 but then heard from someone who did that and got a Clot on the Brain and still now can’t talk properly so I did the last 3 as it scared me haha xx

@Toni I’m needle phobic and have a 6 week course of them. I use Emla numbing cream every night and then my husband does them. It takes the edge off the pain. I’ve used Emla throughout my pregnancy for all needles and it’s been fantastic, even the midwives used it on me when I’ve requested it as they put it on my records that I’m needle phobic. It’s not cheap (especially on a 6 week course of them 😂) but it definitely helps me. X

I had to have a friend come round and do mine as my partner doesn’t like needles and I won’t touch them and had them in alternating thighs as after my section I couldn’t bare the thought of a needle going near there even though it would of hurt less as it’s numb 😅 (never felt them in my thighs until the last couple) x

Ive got 6 weeks to do 😭 no idea why its 6weeks for me instead of 10days as I was initially told it was only 10days and then increased to 6weeks and no1 can give me a reason 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m struggling to finish the first box of injections, i don’t mind injections but I just keep forgetting, even with alarms being set x

Got 6 weeks too, only just got through my first box! The amount of tears when having to do them is ridiculous 😭 I hate them! doesn’t help my stomach is all bruised which isn’t easy for me to do when it hurts ☹️

I'm on 6 weeks too, I'm only on day 7 😮‍💨. I'm a nurse, so used to doing them, but it's a totally different ball game on yourself. I can't seem to get emla cream from anywhere!

Can completely understand the overwhelm! Although the needles are small the buggers have a bite to them!! Hopefully the advice you have been given helps you get through the rest 7 of them - you have deffo got this!
