Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland in the brain that stimulates Ovulation. If your LH levels do not rise prior to expected ovulation, it could indicate Anovulation (you are not ovulating, Delayed Ovulation (the app you are using to track your ovulation is off), Luteinized Unruptured Follicle Syndrome (LUFS) (the LH surge occurs but ovulation does not), Ovulatory Dysfunction (inadequate follicle development or luteal phase defects). You can speak with your obgyn to understand better. I am also a holistic fertility coach and work with women to help them rebalance hormones, if your interested I can send you a DM to discuss further.

How long is your cycle usually? The apps are just a prediction, the tests are much more reliable. If you have a longer cycle you ovulate later, and if this is your first cycle testing you may have a rapid lh surge type and need to test twice a day to catch it.

Don't worry just keep testing, if your cycles are usually 31-33 days you probably don't ovulate until cd17-19. The average is cd14 for a 28 day cycle but women tend to ovulate around 14 days before their period, so if you have longer cycles you ovulate later. It isn't a problem, I have very irregular cycles and normally ovulate around 2 weeks later than average, it wasn't a problem for conceiving.

@Tanya That’s so helpful thank you! When you say you were ovulating 2 weeks later than expected, did your LH tests show up positive towards the end of your cycle??

Yes it did. So when I conceived this time I didn't ovulate until cd31, but I have pcos and my cycles can be 35-50 days.

I’ve just made a group for LH tests! https://www.peanut-app.io/share/RXZqNgI6hJb
