Bed guard whilst abroad

My little girl has gotten too big for travel cots when we travel abroad so I'm now deciding to put her in her own single bed. Only thought that crosses my mind is a bed guard as she isn't very used to sleeping in a normal bed (only just dropped the sides off of her cot). What would you suggest taking abroad as a bed guard? I've seen portable ones online but they all still look huge!
