Potty training

I’m sure this asked a lot on here but has anyone got any tips to encourage the little one pooing on the potty? He just won’t do it and always wants a nappy to poo in 💩thank you x

Give him a twirly straw and get him to blow through it, apparently it relaxes his bowls. I haven't tried it yet but I just found this out x

No real advice but just to say our little one is the same and it’s really common. Not really sure why! Wees are fine but poos seem to be a problem. We’re just leaving him to it for a bit and hoping he gradually works his way out of it. Have heard the straw thing and also blowing bubbles helps? So we may try that eventually but for the time being I’m just being relaxed about it. We’re only a few weeks in and he’s not yet consistently asking to go for a wee (he hasn’t had an accident for some time but we are prompting at specific times such as before leaving the house, before meals etc). Maybe when he is routinely instigating going for a wee I’ll think about tackling the poo problem 😅

Weetabix to help and remaining patient - less pressure helps. Seeing other people doing it on the toilet or watching educational videos about it too

Thanks girls. ! X

Just wanted to add that we have managed poos on the toilet for the last 2 days now. So here’s hoping we are turning a corner. We didn’t do anything differently, he just seems to have decided that he’s ok to do it on the toilet now 😂

(As in today and yesterday).
