Post Birth Contraception

Hi ladies I'm looking for some advice. I met my consultant at 28 weeks and she asked if I'd thought about contraception. I said I was hoping to monitor ovulation etc as I have done for years but she said that this wasn't good enough because it relies on the user too much to be effective and I would need something actually in place after birth. She really tried to push the coil and having it done at the time of my csection. I know for a fact that this personally isn't something that I want to happen and would much prefer the pill as its something I used for years that worked for me. The thing is I hate confrontation and get really anxious about things like that especially with pushy people. What do I say? Has anyone else had this?

Just say you don't want it. I track my ovulation with basal tempreture and don't think to use anything other than that. Thats your body and your choise what to do 🙌

Thankyou! She's calling on the 15th and I dread it

I understand people are fertile after birth but they are mega pushy, if you don't want the confrontation I'd just say you opt for the pill but then don't pick up the prescription!

My newborn baby and exhausted body will be my form of contraception....

@Izzy haha exactly! I'm having a csection so the last thing on my mind anyway is that!

You have to be strong with some people. Just say “after much consideration you’re more comfortable doing basal temp because it works best for you and your body.” If she carries on just say “respectfully, i’ve given you my answer”
