Breastfeeding and miscarriages

Was anyone breastfeeding when they had a miscarriage. I've read a lot online from women who said they kept having miscarriages when they were breastfeeding and only until they stopped did they no longer have a miscarriage. Did this happen to anyone? I'm not wanting to try to get pregnant anymore until my toddler stops breastfeeding completely. I've going through a silent miscarriage and I am heartbroken and just trying to understand why this happened.

I had one in November while still breastfeeding and just had one in April. That pregnancy was conceived in the cycle I've stopped breastfeeding. I also suspect some connection. I read that your progesterone could be rly low while breastfeeding and low progesterone often leads to miscarriage. I'm so sorry for your loss!!

I had a loss in December and I was still breastfeeding . I’m pregnant again and so far everything is good and not breastfeeding anymore . However I did get pregnant with my second while I was 8 months pp and kept breastfeeding through most of that pregnancy .

Hi, I read a lot of reasearch about this as I just went trough miscarriage over 1 week ago and I am breastfeeding my 2 year old. Reaserch states that it seems to be a higher risk of miscarriage when exclusively breastfeeding. However, when a child is breastfed and also having food already, the risk of miscarriage is exactly the same as if not breastfeeding at all. Miscarriges occur in 1 every 3-4 woman, it is very common. I personally don't worry about breastfeeding and pregnancy. We won't know why it has happened, but research states that mostly it is due to genetic problems in the baby and out of our control. I hope this helps ❤️
